We had the good fortune of connecting with Kelly Sinning and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kelly, what is the most important factor behind your success?
It’s interesting to think about the idea of success when you own a therapy practice and coaching business. We don’t just measure success by a dollar amount or amount of schedule appointments. When I think about success for my companies I think about lives changed and people impacted. I think about the way I can create space for people to be, think, process, cry, celebrate, grieve, etc. I believe this is what makes me successful. I am actively thinking and working to create spaces for people to do whatever they need. In turn, I make a positive impact and I find myself running a successful practice. When clients sign on to work with me, they get all of me (in a healthy, boundaried way, of course) which creates a sense of connection and genuine love. I want my clients to reach their goals, I am invested in the lives they want to live, and I am overjoyed to help them get there.

What should our readers know about your business?
I love my businesses! I have a private therapy practice and a coaching business that specializes in supporting women while trying to conceive, throughout pregnancy, and postpartum. My mission is to create space for people to have the hard conversations, share the difficult thoughts, work through the barriers that prevent people from achieving their goals and do it in an environment that is honest, judgement free, and safe. I am so incredibly proud of the businesses I have created because the entire purpose is to support women through some of the most intense periods of their lives, periods that are often plagued with loneliness. I will forever find joy and fulfillment in what I have the privilege of doing for a living.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Fort Collins is such a beautiful place, you truly can’t go wrong! I would be anywhere that is outdoors. Fort Collins has some of the best hiking, biking and walking trails I have ever been on. I love being in Old Town, window shopping, having ice cream in Old Town Square. If you find yourself in Old Town Square you’ll be able to see my office right above Lucky Joe’s Restaurant and Bar!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I love that we get to recognize all the people who helped us get to where we are! Truly every supervisor I have ever had has helped get to this point. All along the way colleagues and supervisors have been supporting me, encouraging me, learning with and teaching me, and helping me build the confidence and expertise I need to be able to support people the way I do now. And truly, I would be regretful if I didn’t give my husband a huge shoutout. Throughout all the trials we had when we were trying to have babies and grow our family, he was a constant source of support and love and was always reminding me of how I can help others on a deep level due to our own troubles while trying to conceive. He plays a major factor in my decision to specialize in perinatal mental health.
