We had the good fortune of connecting with Cordy Coady and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cordy, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
My husband got a wine kit for me and my daughter because we love wine. The kit made about 30 bottles and we shared them. After the wine was gone, we felt we needed to make another kit. While the wine was fermenting, we thought we need to get more equipment and another yet different wine kit so that we would not run out of wine. And we just kept making more and more wine – we started to share it with family and friends. They all loved what we were doing and suggested we start our own business – and this is how we got here. This is a hobby that got out of control. We now make over 30 different kinds of wine and do not add sulfites to the finished product.
What should our readers know about your business?
Upon our research, we found a need for a winery in Parker. We love our wine – sharing wine – talking about wine. At our winery, we try to create a laid-back, relaxed environment. We want people to have fun and not be intimidated by wine. We have the best customers and have created friendships because of what we do.
When we first moved to Parker, we tried to find a place that we could call our own. We inadvertently became that place. We are like the Cheers of Parker.
We have received numerous awards for our wines and were voted Best Wine Bar in Parker two years in a row.
Going through Covid was a bit of a challenge. We could be open like a Liquor Store, however we couldn’t do tastings. We had to get creative to stay afloat. And we created smoked wine! We infuse some of our wines with smoke to enhance the flavor. We don’t know anyone else doing what we do.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
When we decided to turn our hobby into a business, there were four owners – me, my husband Bob, my daughter Kristi and her husband Eddie. Now it’s just me and my husband.
