We had the good fortune of connecting with Pamela Brewington and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pamela, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I always feel that I have the capacity to break walls and find a better way of doing things that are more favorable for everyone. I discover from day one, that the real magic behind this is change other people lives for good. Improve the quality of life of my team members and my clients is the process behind every business that I start. I wake up every morning thinking how I can make their lives better today, and act accordingly. For example, with the cleaning business started with my first employee, who never had work before because culturally, her role was to stay at home and take care of the kids and husband. She struggle for weeks trying to balance her personal life and working life and wanted to quit several times in tears because her husband was giving her a hard time for working. After few weeks, her pay checks started to be bigger than her husband and that was when the magic happen. At the end, he was a staying at home father and she was the bread winner. Love it!!!! After that, my passion focus in how to make an impact better and overall bigger. I don’t want to to change the lives of only 20-20-100-1,000 people in my community. I want to change the lives of millions of people around the world, and that is a new journey that I’m starting now.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I define myself as a serial entrepreneur. I love building a team, process and systems that end in delivering a brand (service or product) that people love. I can do this over and over again. From the idea creation until bring them to success. In Colorado, I created Tarylen Cleaning Services, 7 years ago. We started with the intention to bring Joy to everyone., to our employees and our clients. I need my environment always be neat and clean so my brain can express freely and be more efficient and creative. I started the cleaning business because the standards were very low and was a very informal industry. I took this a challenge to bring to this industry the same professional approach and high standard that any other service industries use. I want to bring the clients the peace of mind to have a service that is professional, consistent and reliable, so they can use their time to do great things. Also for our cleaners, I wanted to provide a job that they are proud of, that are highly specialized and trained. They are not maids or housekeepers, they are Cleaner Technicians and they are certified and constantly getting updated education. When you are able to have women helping women, to both get a better quality of life, we can all accomplish more. Of course was not easy. I’m here to change this industry and raise the standards from day one and that is always hard. Then I created another business called Omnifique, oriented to high end travelers, where the vision is provide the high level of services in hospitality. If you can imagine it, we can make it happen is our motto. Like closing a national park for a week in Hawaii so the family can walk around in peace (as they were easily recognizable) or organizing the most unforgettable 50 years birthday trip for the patriarch in Aspen.
Now, I’m in the creation process for my third business. Cannot tell yet what will be about, but you will hear again from me for good, sooner than later 🙂

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Colorado in general is very diverse and offer so many options for all type of interests and life styles. I’m a foodie, so I’ll definetly plan it around food.

My gems are:

– The Wolf’s Taylor in Denver. Simply divine! (and with a Michelin Star now)
– Cholon in downtown Denver. Best Asian Fusion.
– The Rabbit hole in Colorado Spring. Very unique, great food and love the story about the building.
– La Taverne Steakhouse at the Broadmoor in Colorado Spings, a classic pleasure.
– The Kitchen in Boulder. Always simple and good.
– Rincon Argentino in Boulder. Im originally from Chile, so the closest that I can get to the flavors that I miss.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
They say that behind every great man is a great woman. Now, also behind every great woman is also a great man. My husband, who unfortunately passed away last year, supported me from day one with my crazy ideas, ridiculous working hours, smile at me while I was screaming our of frustration, and give me courage when I felt that I wanted to quit. Also, he teach me the most important lesson that any business mentor, or business book have giving me: Trust in people and focus in the people. I learned to see the good in everyone and find a purpose in everything that I do. I learn from him that I have the power to changes people lives and I have to keep pushing ad working hard every day.
