We asked folks to tell us about their favorite quote or affirmation and to tell us what it means to them. We’ve shared some of those responses below.

Cordy Coady | Owner / Sommelier

My husband got a wine kit for me and my daughter because we love wine. The kit made about 30 bottles and we shared them. After the wine was gone, we felt we needed to make another kit. While the wine was fermenting, we thought we need to get more equipment and another yet different wine kit so that we would not run out of wine. And we just kept making more and more wine – we started to share it with family and friends. They all loved what we were doing and suggested we start our own business – and this is how we got here. This is a hobby that got out of control. We now make over 30 different kinds of wine and do not add sulfites to the finished product. Read more>>

Meighan Kapke | Mother & Artist

The idea for my business wasn’t a sudden and determined decision to create a business one day. It was more of a gradual progression of realizing that I needed an outlet for my creativity outside of my “day job” of being a graphic designer. Elsie Saengkhamyong | Artist & Author

As I got older I saw how the generations before and after me were taking proactive steps to create a welcoming and educational atmosphere for the Lao diaspora. Just Saeng is a representation of the collected creative skills I have built over 5 years. The social media page turned blog, is a visual display of my artwork, photography, videography, journalism, and historical education. Read more>>

Jack McGinn | Founder of the Front Range Jeep Club

I was working part time at a brewery in Broomfield and realized they had so much potential to host big events on the weekends and weeknights! I saw a lack of community in my area among Jeep owners and offroad enthusiasts. I thought “well I’m really into my Jeep and I know other people that like Jeeps and off-roading, why not have a Jeep car show at the brewery one weekend?” Then I found myself asking “why only do one event? Why not multiple events?” Thus the Front Range Jeep Club was invented. We have monthly meet ups, go on weekend trail rides together, and are looking to host our first charity event this year. I’m excited to see where it goes! Read more>>

Allegra Wermuth | Professional Violinist, Teacher, Teen Life Coach

I am a professional violinist and have been working with tweens, teens and young adults through teaching violin for over 30 years. Very often, the lessons would very much not be about the music, it would be about what was going on in their lives, because whatever drama, excitement, emotions of all kinds would directly affect the quality of the lesson and the quality of the playing. Therefore, many of my students considered their lessons “therapy”. Besides having my own teenager at home, I saw how much the pandemic had (and still does) affect the young people in our lives and knew that I needed to work to reach a larger community, not just through music lessons.
