We had the good fortune of connecting with Theresa Caragol and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Theresa, what role has risk played in your life or career?
For me, the essence of risk-taking lies in measured prudence. While calculated deliberation is key, taking a degree of risk annually is indispensable for growth. Founding my company was undoubtedly a major calculated risk, and retrospectively, the most rewarding decision I’ve ever made. And I’ve never been more grateful for starting this company, alongside our exceptional team.

However, even with the thrill of entrepreneurship, it’s crucial to maintain a conscious awareness of risk parameters. As a self-funded company, our risk-taking capacity is inherently finite. Striking the right balance, avoiding both excessive caution and reckless gambling, is crucial. While I wouldn’t characterize myself as a high-risk individual, I navigate the risk with deliberate focus and strategic planning.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My journey into entrepreneurship began with a need for balance. While traveling the globe, and managing various sales divisions, I found myself burdened by constant travel while raising two young boys. The stress became untenable, prompting me to explore the world of consulting. However, after a year, the entrepreneurial spirit within me ignited. Witnessing others build successful companies, I realized I could do the same thing. That’s when the seeds of AchieveUnite were sown. Later I had the opportunity to meet Bob O’Malley (AU godfather), followed by Jessica Baker (our current CPO), and later, Fiona Coughlan (People Development Lead). Together, we have cultivated a truly remarkable company.

As an entrepreneur, I recognize the inevitability of roadblocks. Success lies not in their absence, but in our ability to navigate them with resourcefulness and resolve. Whether we choose to go over, under, around, or through them, every obstacle presents an opportunity for growth and innovation. This constant problem-solving, resilience, and agility, are ingrained in my DNA, and they serve as the driving force behind my journey.

What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
At the heart of our AchieveUnite success lies an unwavering commitment to serving others. We are driven by a genuine desire to empower individuals, enhance their careers, and ultimately, make their lives better. For every client, we envision them as heroes within their own narratives, and this aspiration extends to everyone we engage with, from clients, friends, to our esteemed AchieveUnite dedicated team.

Also, what I’m most excited about is the fact that we are really turning partnering and the system for partnering and partnering success into science. By rigorously analyzing and systematizing the elements for successful partnerships, we’re empowering individuals, companies, and organizations to achieve unprecedented levels of collaboration.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For a Washington D.C. adventure, I’d showcase the city’s historical grandeur with visits to the iconic World War II Memorial Monument and the Lincoln Memorial. I will also take them to my favorite museums: the American History Museum and the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History.

Then, a short journey of an hour and 15 minutes away into my country house on the river and show them the experience of boating, jet skiing, swimming, fishing, hanging out, and hiking in the country and the difference between one hour makes of two different worlds.

If we have the time, will hop on a private jet and zoom over to Barcelona, Spain! It’s like my second home, Exploring this vibrant city with its rich cultural heritage and my beloved family would be a truly unforgettable experience. It’s where I feel truly connected, rooted in something bigger, and at peace, you know? It would be an experience we’d never forget.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
