Meet Steven Libhart | Guest speaker, educator and owner of an accounting/bookkeeping firm that caters to the legal industry

We had the good fortune of connecting with Steven Libhart and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Steven, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
I have created a successful bookkeeping/accounting firm that serves the legal industry. My goal, from the beginning has been to create a business that allows me to work, while traveling in my Airstream travel trailer. It took a few years and I am generally on the road from April until October each year. My clients don’t know where I actually am at any given time and I am able to coordinate my podcast recordings, work load, project coordination with my team and other relevant tasks while enjoying the beauty and scenery that comes with wherever I may happen to be. I am also a guest speaker at conventions and am on the faculty of the Colorado Bar Association. I love the variety that travel, teaching, speaking and serving our clients affords me in my life.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I grew up in a family of entrepreneurs and learned the values of hard work, listening to clients and patience. In my younger years, I worked for a large hotel company and was transferred to several properties around the country during my tenure. I learned from my mentors and embraced customer relations, dignity, and exemplary customer service. Practicing effective listening skills, having a desire to be a part of the excitement that comes with serving hotel and resort guests and the travel experiences all of it brought to me has stayed with me all these years. I also had the honor of building out and operating an award winning Aveda Day Spa, located in a hotel in downtown Denver. It was a wonderful experience and we sold it for a profit (dream come true!). I, then, became attracted to the legal industry and have been working, educating, collaborating and making a difference in that industry for 20 years. As the owner of my Professional Accounting/Bookkeeping company, my team and I provide efficient and effective insights into each of our legal client’s financial health. Our unwavering commitment to professionalism, confidentiality and attention detail sets us apart and attracts the same types of businesses to our collaborative environment.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would hook up my Airstream and hit the road. It goes without saying that we live in one of the most beautiful areas of the United States. I would circle the entire state, in both large and small cities/towns, explore the areas, take hikes, enjoy the local cuisine, rest, hike….just enjoy it all! The San Luis Valley of Colorado would be where I would spend most of the time….it has such a great history, inviting little towns, friendly people and the best scenery of anywhere I can think of.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The Colorado Bar Association, the professional associations that seek me out to guest speak and share our successes, procedures, and dreams. Lynda Artesani and Sarah Prevost of The Proper Trust company and as co-hosts with our podcast “The Accountants LawPod”. The many Attorneys that have aligned with myself and my team and special thanks to William Suhre and Larry Hamil, two Attorneys that are no longer with us but made a positive lasting impression on my life and my career.
