Meet Taylor McNally | Owner & Floral Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor McNally and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taylor, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I started my business I knew that everything I created wanted to come solely from me. I had a bit of experience in the floral industry before I started my business that made me fall in love with wedding floral. I knew that after working behind the scenes for large companies and creating a bridal bouquet for a bride I know nothing about felt so impersonal to me. I loved the idea of all of my designs not only creating something special for a couples love story celebration, but also my designs creating connection and surrounding everyone with love. I decided to start my own business shortly after that idea so that I could custom create and connect with all.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business is actually a crazy fun story! After graduating high school I attempted the four year university route and instantly knew that was not for me. I decided to go to a local community college and see where that would take me, as well as trying to find a job in the floral industry. I knew floral design was somewhat in the cards because it was something I really enjoyed doing for high school dances, family gatherings and more. I began working at a commercial floral company, then dipped my toes in weddings with a friend and instantly fell in love? Shortly after that I decided to start my business and really jumped right in to all things weddings and events! I did a year long internship with a luxury floral company to get more knowledge and experience and I knew it was my calling. This process was definitely not easy and I still face challenges to this day, but I think the largest thing that I have had to battle throughout this is my age! Lots of people judge, underestimate, or question my abilities due to my young age. This is something that I have learned to love though and also show those around me that just because I am young does not mean that I can deliver any less than those around me! Going off of that, I would want the world to know that I am young, but I love it that way! I am talented, I am worthy and I am capable of building my business and place in this industry. I hope to inspire and connect with all those around me to create a domino effect of love and support surrounding this industry.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were coming to town I would give them the full experience to see all of the things! We would hit a few of my favorite restaurants including Postino, North Italia, Playa Bowls, Park Burger and Flower Child. We would stop by Wash Park for some volleyball, exercise or a picnic. Obviously we would have to make a stop in the mountains, either for a hike or some skiing depending on the season and we may stop by Beau Jo’s pizza in Idaho Springs for some pizza! If the season lines up I would take them to a Nuggets or Avalanche game and show them around downtown Denver! A sunset, sunrise or concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre is a must! We would have some sweet treats at VooDoo Doughnuts or Sweet Cow Ice Cream! Finally I would make sure that they see all of the simple things too like local farmers markets, malls and more!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I think that the person that deserves the most credit in my story is my Mom. She is the most supportive, hard-working, and selfless person I have ever come across. All of my success and drive comes from her and I truly would not be where I am without her. She inspires me every day to push myself and my business to new heights.
