We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Valentine and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicole, what is the most important factor behind your success?
It is deeply important to me that I bring results to the women that I coach and that they experience an up leveling in every area of their life that they are wanting to address and improve. I bring the same philosophy to our retreats in Costa del Sol, Spain. Every participant experiences deep results in the span of a week. The retreats are truly life changing experiences that allow participants to step away from the daily tasks and busy work of their everyday lives, and reimage their best life possible. They are able to return home with clarity in vision, and tactical insight on how to reorganize priorities and daily structure so they can make huge advances towards their goals.

I believe that my success is centered around the success of my clients and I strive to expl*it my experience, knowledge and expertise in the service of others. I continue to make enormous strides in the growth of my business, and in racing as a professional athlete at the highest level while in my 40s, and look to serve as an example of what is possible through coaching for my clients.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am a life coach for athletes. I bring my experience in life coaching along with my deep experience training and competing as a professional triathlete at the highest levels and working with some of the best coaches in the world. I break down life coaching into an easy to follow training plan with concrete goals so that my clients not only achieve personal best race results, they up level every area of their lives, and achieve deep satisfaction in showing up fully the way they are meant to.

I got into coaching as I found myself at the start line of races with just a few other females. Mountain biking, Xterra off-road triathlon, and Ironman events have been largely male dominated. I made it my mission to encourage and uplift other female athletes to reach their greatest potential, with the goal of have more fast females on the start line. Too many women believe they are not capable and don’t try. We often believe life is either/or – you can race professionally or have a family. Or you can choose career or motherhood, but not succeed very well at both. This generation is certainly proving that untrue as we see athletes at the highest levels taking time off to have families and then returning to sport, stronger than ever.

All boats rise with the tide. I have experienced the affect of having a close female friend from my training group start crushing her goals and putting down really fast times, that influences her sphere around her. We all instantly believed we could do it as well and it set the bar higher for the entire group. That season we all achieved race PRs through the belief we built in each other and our capabilities.

This is why I am driven so passionately to coaching. I don’t want to see others selling themselves short. It is an absolute pleasure to see my clients achieve race results as well as life goals that they did not believe were possible.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In Summit County, CO there are so many incredible things to see and do. My recommendation is to Mountain Bike at the Peninsula in Frisco, on the Upper and Lower flume in Breckenridge, or Aspen Alley in the Fall when the leaves are changing. Visiting the Troll in Breckenridge and hiking the trails around Buffalo Mtn in Silverthorne are also highlights.

The best breakfast spots are Crown Coffee and Amazing Grace in Breckenridge. Also, Mi Casa for Mexican food, and Eric’s Downstairs for Great Pizza and Wings. Summit County also hosts a number of great breweries that often have live music. Broken Compass and Outer Range are two of my favorites.

Getting out and paddle boarding on Lake Dillon or seeing on of the free Monday night concerts at Lake Dillon Amphitheatre are also highlights!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a shoutout to my Life Coach, Steph Yost, who has been such an incredible source of support and led me to see that the possibilities are endless and I can take action today towards achieving my goals. She has encouraged me to stop overthinking, over planning, waiting for the perfect time, etc. and to just dive in and take action, even if it is imperfect. You don’t get results without taking any action.
