We had the good fortune of connecting with Haley Lafferty and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Haley, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
All in Bloom Therapy is a holistic, trauma- informed practice that creates a safe space for all of its clients. It is challenging to identify one singular factor that is most important to our business, because in all reality, I think it is a collective number of factors that creates our foundation as a company. All in Bloom’s foundation is its values, this being: authenticity, creativity, acceptance, collaboration, compassion, and of course, humor. These values have created a thriving environment both within our company and for our clients. With every decision we make at All in Bloom, it is helpful to assess if this choice aligns with our values. When we are aligned with our values, we can trust that we are making the best choice for the company.

Another significant factor to All in Bloom’s success is the friendship that I have with the co-owner, Dr. Sligar. Dr. Sligar and I have known each other since we were just 16 years old. We have seen each other in all phases of life and have a good understanding of who we are/what we are challenged with. Having a business partner who you trust, is a significant piece to our success. Dr. Sligar is inspiring both as a therapist and a business partner. When you have a business partner that you can rely on, all the other challenges that may arise seem to be way easier to manage.

What should our readers know about your business?
All in Bloom Therapy was created over years and years of education and clinical experience. To become a licensed clinical social worker there are many steps that need to be taken, this consists of: an undergraduate degree, a masters degree, passing a clinical exam, and a completion of 3,360 clinical hours (in a minimum of 2 years). Social work is a challenging field to be in and can be especially challenging when you are working towards to your license. You are often exposed to systems that undervalue and underpay pre-licensed clinicians. It can be difficult to stay focused on future goals when you are overwhelmed by the present circumstances.
With that being said, being in the field of social work has taught me patience and dedication. There were many times where I experienced burnout or compassion fatigue. It is important to recognize when you need to take a break or how to utilize your support system during these times. Self- advocating and taking care of myself allowed me to stay focused on my goals. The idea of All in Bloom Therapy was created long before I could truly understand the amount of work that it would take to get there. I am very fortunate and grateful to be able to run a practice with, Dr. Sligar. Through both of our experiences in the helping field, we feel confident in what our company stands for.
All In Bloom Therapy, is a client focused practice that specializes in trauma-informed and culturally competent care. Our approach to therapy is holistic, meaning we prioritize the whole individual and all aspects of their life. We believe therapy works best when therapist and client create a collaborative relationship to meet the client’s unique needs. We value and celebrate diversity and believe that feeling safe is a basic human right. We are continuously striving to learn and grow connections in the community. We know as therapists, it is part of our job to stay educated, and show up in the best way for our clients.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love Colorado for how absolutely beautiful it is! If someone was visiting, I would spend as much time outside as we can. Rocky Mountain National Park, Garden of the Gods, and Estes Park are some must sees. Colorado has so much to offer and getting connected to nature is such a big piece of why I have stayed here for so long.
If you are looking to grab a drink in the Denver area, I personally love Forest Room 5. They have somehow brought the forest to the city and are sure to add some funky style choices. It’s a unique place and everyone that I have brought there, falls in love with it!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A huge shout out to all of my friends and family who have listened/witnessed my journey in social work. The continued support is incredibly appreciated. Social work can be a challenging field to be in, but when you have people in your corner, it makes a big difference.
