Meet Alane J | Musician – Drummer, Singer, Songwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alane J and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alane, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
I’ve been a musician/songwriter since I was 8 years old. My songs have always been about things I have personally experienced but the messages were not always positive. Some were written out of anger and frustration.
After a breast cancer scare in 2022, I decided to go full steam back into playing music and songwriting with the purpose of inspiring people and providing positive messages. I believe music can heal and give people hope. All of the songs I record and distribute are uplifting and I have received numerous messages from people who have been helped by my music.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Music is not an easy road. At times it feels as if there are more downs than ups. You have to persevere through challenges and believe in yourself to keep going. I’ve learned I need to trust myself and accept when things don’t go as planned. My drive to help and inspire others to also believe in themselves and know that we all have our own gifts. We need to use them in this crazy life journey to help others.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would first introduce them to my family and friends. They are the reason I enjoy everyday. We would start with a morning walk in Boulder ending on the arch over looking the city. It gives you a chance to sit, take in the beauty and reflect. Of course after a long hike we will need food and drinks, which we would enjoy while at the top. There are so many other beautiful things to see including Red Rocks, Garden of the Gods and a drive to the top of Pikes peak. As you can tell, spending time outdoors is mandatory. We would end each day with dinner my favorite restaurants, and catch a few shows to support the many talented musicians around town.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My faith is above all the most influential part of my success. I also have tremendous support from my family. My brother and I have played together since we were kids and our parents were incredibly supportive. Finally all my friends along my journey have always lifted me up and encouraged me to keep pursuing music.
