We had the good fortune of connecting with Tommy Dolan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tommy, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
Life certainly has its ups and downs, and it can be hard to know if a challenging situation is a dead end or just a detour. The decision to stop or to keep going in a certain direction can be really challenging, and there’s no one-size-fits-all answer. It often depends on various factors, including personal goals, circumstances, and values.
Here are some things I recommend considering:
-If you’re making progress, even if it’s slow, or learning valuable lessons along the way, it could be worth continuing.
-If you have a good support system and access to the resources you need, persistence might pay off.
-If your efforts align with your long-term goals and aspirations, staying the course might be beneficial.
Conversely:
-If continuing is causing significant stress, burnout, or health issues, it’s important to prioritize your well-being.
-Sometimes external feedback or signs (such as repeated failures or lack of opportunity) can indicate that it might be time to change direction.
One thing that I always recommend is talking it through with trusted family members, friends, mentors, etc. And look for multiple people that are in different ages and stages than you are so you can get different perspectives.

What should our readers know about your business?
Danielle and I are both Realtors. She has been in the industry for 10 years and I am in my 3rd year. What sets us apart is our willingness to always put our client’s needs above our own. Many people pay lip service to doing this but we take this duty very seriously. It sometimes means we lose money or opportunity but for us doing the right thing is important. The market has been very tough this past year+ but our collective business has thrived and we have had some of our best numbers yet. (*Note, we do not operate officially as a team, but do so on a practical basis). The biggest hurdles thus far have been my aforementioned health issues. Danielle and I (and our kids) have hard to battle hard to overcome those challenges.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This question made me laugh! Because we are always running run for work, our kids’ activities, etc. we really love to stay home and relax when we can. But, to be a good sport, if friends were coming into town, we would have to take the inevitable hike to one of the many trails around us. We love to go to our favorite restaurant, Jaques (https://www.jacqueslohi.com). The food is amazing there and reminds of our time in France. We also have many get togethers in our neighborhood and love to have friends and family come join those. We have a great neighborhood, in fact, some neighbors even helped my wife do CPR on me until the paramedics arrived 🙂

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Without a doubt I have to give my wife Danielle a shoutout! She is an amazing wife, mom, friend, Realtor and more. She also saved my life on 12/2/22. I went into cardiac arrest and she started CPR immediately. I would not be alive if she had not been so quick to help me. She has also been with me every step of the way for my recovery.
