We had the good fortune of connecting with Anita Dolliver and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anita, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
A quote that hit me hard when I first read it, and that I share with anyone who will listen, comes from Cy Wakeman in her book No Ego: How Leaders Can Cut the Cost of Workplace Drama, End Entitlement and Drive Big Results. It reads, “Your circumstances are not the reason you can’t succeed; they are the reality in which you must succeed”. These words resonate deeply because they help shift the focus from external barriers to internal resilience. It’s easy to blame circumstances when things feel hard, but this perspective challenges me to take ownership of my outcomes. It reminds me that success isn’t about perfect conditions—it’s about adaptability, grit, and the determination to navigate the hand you’ve been dealt. It inspires me to embrace challenges as part of the journey rather than obstacles in the way.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I spent over 20 years in corporate human resources where I witnessed the incredible impacts of leadership, done well and done poorly. Transitioning from a career in HR to one focused on leadership coaching marks an exciting evolution for me. I believe that everyday people are key to organizational success, which flourishes through great leadership and its ripple effects—engagement, well-being, productivity, and trust.

Leadership qualities such as vulnerability, authenticity, accountability, and curiosity create the foundation of a thriving workplace culture. I am passionate about recognizing and nurturing these human moments within each individual’s unique journey.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There’s no shortage of things to do and places to go here in the Boulder-Denver area. The mountains are the first place people think of, and yes, they are amazing. But first, I’d spend some time in Boulder, walking the Pearl Street Mall, and then lunching on the short-rib nachos from the Boulder Depot. A visit and hike around Brainard Lake would surely be in the cards also.

From there, we’d hit a concert at Red Rocks before heading south to get some pampering at the Broadmoor for a bit. And while we’re in the area, we’d have to conquer the Manitou Incline.

We’d finish our visit together in Vail, just hanging out near the river that runs through town, breathing the fresh air, listening to the flowing water.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband, who has been a huge supporter of my coaching journey, along with my mom and dad, who provided the foundation which has helped me become the person I am today. Additionally, the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC) established my coaching program, which ended up being the best investment I ever made in myself.
