Meet Tiffany Green | Business Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tiffany, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I have lived in Brighton Colorado for over 20 years. My husband and I raised our 3 boys (now adults) in this small town. The community we have built in this town is the most valuable part of living here. Now that my boys are grown , I felt called to help others in the area grow here. Brighton is growing at a rapid rate, but one thing that was missing, was a place for families to connect and grow. There also was no Children’s boutiques, which became the niche! Adorable cute clothing to attract families to the store front, and once inside we could tell them about our “gathering space” The gathering space was where we could bring families together, through play dates, meetups, classes and more!

What should our readers know about your business?
Pickled Pepper’s front doors unfortunately are closing at the end of February. This was not a decision that came lightly. The rising costs of rent, inventory and everything is forcing our hand to shut the doors. This greatly saddens me and the community. I truly believe Pickled Pepper served our community greatly and was a large asset .
With this change, comes a deeper desire to educate the community on small business! I’m not sure what platform I will use to do so and how deep I will go with this, but I do want to educate the community on the struggles behind those doors. Being a business owner nearly all my adulthood, I know small business. But this was my first time being in a Brick in Mortar. You don’t know what you don’t know. I now feel it’s my responsibility to help this community grow even more and not just as families, but as a community.
Since opening my doors nearly 2 years ago, I have seen small business after small business close down. Some that only lasted a year and others that have been around for 5+ years and having to close! We are trying to grow our little historic downtown, but without the help of the City and the community, it wont succeed. I have a passion growing inside me to try and help figure it out and help this community grow in ways it hasn’t before.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I assume you want me to describe Brighton, and not Colorado as a whole? Those would look so different.
So if a friend was coming to visit me in Brighton these are the things we would see and do.
Get outside and visit Barr Lake. Take a good walk around a portion of the lake.
I would take her to Main Street in Brighton to visit all the small shops – My Local Boutique, Pine Grove Mercantile, Knot Forgotten, Heaven’s Shining Light, and Wolf & Honey. We would spend a good portion of a day here, drinking specialty coffee drinks and shopping and visiting with the store owners.
We would visit Mulberries Cake Shop and shop their adorable porch and get some desserts to take home.
For Dinner, we would pick from one of our favorite small local restaurants , maybe Main street Grill, Copper Rail, Wholly Stromboli, or stop at one of many taco trucks (because they are always delicious) .

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Kathleen Karr with Mulberries Cake Shop is a dear friend, that has supported Pickled Pepper from day one. Not only my dear friend, but an amazing business owner. She helped me set the store and the vision for it, and continues to come in monthly to help with resets and design. (she is amazingly good at it and makes it so easy). She has been in business for nearly 25 years. And moved her thriving business from the busy streets of Denver to small town Brighton and continues to be successful! She is a super star in this community. Always giving and making the most beautiful cakes for those special occasions!
