We had the good fortune of connecting with Olivia Daniel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Olivia, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Since I was a child, I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit. I would find ways to turn my passions into projects, and that drive to create something of my own naturally led me to pursue a career where I could merge my love for wellness with my business ambitions. It felt like a natural extension of who I am—to build something that aligned with my personal values and vision.

Starting Homebody Therapeutic Massage came from a deep desire to create a space where people could not only experience physical healing but also emotional and mental restoration. I’ve always believed in the importance of self-care, and I wanted to cultivate a space that felt nurturing and accessible for everyone—somewhere clients could unwind and truly focus on their well-being.

The “homebody” environment I’ve created was heavily influenced by my approach to my practice with massage, which prioritizes nervous system regulation. I believe that creating a calm and peaceful atmosphere is essential to ensuring clients can have the best response. By offering services that align with relaxation, healing, and self-love as a priority – I’ve aimed to create something that felt genuine and warm, not just a transactional experience. This approach has resonated deeply with my clients, and it has been incredibly rewarding to see them experience the true benefits of this intentional approach.

What should our readers know about your business?
What I want people to know about Homebody Therapeutic Massage is that we’re not just about giving massages—we’re about creating a space where people can truly heal and reconnect with themselves. It’s about offering a space that feels like home, where you can unwind and restore, body and mind. I’m really passionate about this mission, and I’m so proud of our focus on creating a relaxing experience that nurtures the nervous system. It’s something I believe deeply in, and I’m excited to continue sharing it with anyone who’s looking for that kind of restorative experience.

Getting to this point wasn’t a walk in the park, though. Like any entrepreneur, I’ve faced my share of challenges—everything from business management to staying true to my values while making tough decisions. There were moments where I questioned if I was doing enough or if I was making the right moves. But through persistence, learning from every step along the way, and being supported by an amazing community, I’ve been able to keep going. One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that entrepreneurship isn’t a straight path—it’s full of highs and lows and a lot of uncertainty . But every obstacle is an opportunity to learn and grow, and each challenge I’ve faced has only made me stronger and more committed to my vision.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting, we’d start with a Pilates class at Core Collective. It always leaves me feeling energized and centered. After that, we’d head over to Hapke’s Hortum in Old Colorado City to browse their plants—there’s something so peaceful about picking out a few new plants. Then, we’d grab lunch at Piglatin Cocina and enjoy their Latin-inspired dishes. To end the day, we’d go to Ohana Kava Bar for a kava ceremony. It’s the perfect way to relax and unwind together.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many people, resources, and experiences that have contributed to my journey, but if I had to give a special shoutout, it would go to my mentors and the incredible people who have supported me along the way. This would include a few friends who I also consider mentors- Aaron Ewton & Andres Velez – from the Atlas Restaurant Group, Peter Choe – Owner of Tokki and RiverWok Restaurants and my good friend and mentor – Stephanie Peters from Step by Steph Coaching.

Another key influence in my story is my parents – Thaddeus Daniel and Bobbie Taylor. They have always believed in me, supported my vision, and helped me stay grounded in my purpose. They’re my biggest cheerleaders, and without their unwavering belief in my ability to make this dream a reality, I would not have had the confidence to pursue it.
