We had the good fortune of connecting with Fleeka and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Fleeka, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I pursued a creative career because music speaks to people’s hearts in a way that conventional careers can’t and has a reach that others don’t. It has the power to evoke emotions, challenge perspectives, and connect with people on a deeply personal level. Choosing anything else would have felt like denying a fundamental part of myself. Creativity is how I make sense of the world, express my truth, and leave an impact that words alone cannot.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am an independent pop artist from Northern Colorado, creating unexpected, thought-provoking, and genre-blending music. What sets me apart is not just my sound but my deep passion for people and my desire to shift culture in a meaningful, positive way. Music is more than just entertainment for me—it’s a way to ignite passion and purpose in others, sparking conversations that challenge perspectives and inspire change.

Getting to where I am today has been a journey of persistence, growth, and community. It hasn’t been easy—there were moments I wanted to give up—but I’ve pushed through by staying rooted in my faith and surrounding myself with people who believe in me. Every day, I remind myself that “Joy is a choice; happiness is a feeling.” That mindset has helped me navigate challenges and continue moving forward.

I want the world to know that I don’t aim to be just another pop artist. My purpose goes beyond the music—I want to inspire people to live with passion, confidence, and purpose. I want to encourage others to go against the grain, challenge limited mindsets, and be unafraid to shift culture. Through my music and my heart for people, I hope to create something that resonates far beyond the surface—something that makes a real impact.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh my goodness, as a Colorado native, there are so many amazing places to explore—we would definitely need more than a week! But if I had to squeeze in my absolute favorites, here’s how the trip would go:

Day 1: We’d kick things off with breakfast at Urban Egg in Johnstown—their chicken and waffles are unbeatable. Then, we’d spend the morning hiking at Horsetooth Reservoir, catching the sunrise over the water. Afterward, we’d grab coffee at Coco’s Cafe in Greeley and do some local shopping.

Day 2: A day trip to Estes Park is a must! We’d stroll through the charming mountain town, check out the local shops, and, of course, stop at Laura’s Fudge Shop for the most amazing caramel apples. If we have time, we’d explore Rocky Mountain National Park for some breathtaking views and maybe even spot some wildlife.

Day 3: We’d slow it down with a relaxing morning and then head to Pizza Vino in Windsor for lunch—their homemade pasta and fresh salads are to die for. In the afternoon, we could visit and wrap up the day with a casual hangout in Old Town Fort Collins, enjoying live music and good vibes.

Day 4: Another foodie stop—this time at Comet Chicken in Fort Collins for a Bahn Mi bowl. Then, we’d take a scenic drive through the mountains, maybe hitting up Nederland or Boulder for some exploring. If we’re feeling adventurous, we could check out some hot springs for a relaxing soak.

Day 5: If it’s summer, we’re definitely taking the boat out on one of Colorado’s beautiful lakes for wake surfing and jet skiing. Nothing beats a day on the water, soaking up the sun with good music and great company.

Day 6: A little road trip to Denver! We’d hit up the RiNo Art District for cool murals and unique coffee shops, then check out a concert at Red Rocks if there’s a show happening—it’s one of the most incredible venues in the world.

Day 7: For our final day, we’d take it easy with a brunch spot we haven’t tried yet (because Colorado is full of them), maybe explore a farmer’s market or a local festival, and just enjoy the last moments of an amazing trip.

There’s so much more to see and do, but this would be the ultimate week packed with adventure, delicious food, and unforgettable experiences!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wouldn’t be where I am today without the incredible people who have shaped and supported me along the way. First and foremost, my mother—her creativity and passion inspired me from the very beginning, showing me what it means to truly live as an artist. My family has been my foundation, offering unwavering love and support through every high and low. To the producers and mentors in the music industry who have guided me, pushed me, and believed in my vision—thank you for your wisdom and for helping me grow. My community has uplifted me, reminding me of the power of connection and shared dreams. And above all, my faith has kept me grounded, giving me strength and purpose on this journey. I’m beyond grateful for every person and every moment that has shaped my path.
