Today we’re excited to be connecting with Momo Wong again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.

Momo, thanks for joining us again. Just to level set a bit for folks who may have missed our last interview together, can you briefly introduce yourself?
My name is Momo Wong, owner of Momo Wong Design (formerly Naka Interiors). I specialize in high-end residential design, with no personal aesthetic, rather I listen to my clients loves and dislikes and tailor an interior to reflect their personality and preferences. I’ve been a professional interior designer for 0ver twenty years, but I’d argue it’s been my entire life. I’ve always loved creating spaces that nurture me and those that I love. I like to find a place and process for things in a home to provide clear organization.

Awesome, so we reached out because we wanted to hear all about what you have been up to since we last connected.
Since last catching up with Shout Out, I’ve accomplished a life-long dream of being published in Architectural Digest (US, Mexico, Italy, Middle East) and Elle Decor (Spain and Middle East). I’ve also had a project published in the coffee table book, “World’s Best – 50 Interiors from around the Globe” (Beta Publishing). It’s thrilling to have a beloved project receive such notable press and to have the reach as international as it is tells me there is something so universal about thoughtful, beautiful, timeless design. It transcends language and hits at the core of who are are as humans.

We have now arrived at one of our favorite parts of the interview – the lightning round. We’ll ask you a few quick questions to give us all some fun insights about you.

Favorite Book: Of Human Bondage, by Somerset Maugham

Favorite TV Show: The Bear

Favorite Sport (to play): Skiing

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up: I knew I wanted to do something creative but didn’t figure it out until I was in my twenties.

What do you want people to remember about you and your brand? What are some of things that you feel are most important, unique, special, etc?
After a project is complete, and clients are well settled into their space, I want them to feel joy, calm, and a sacred well-being. While many of my projects have large budgets, the small ones are sometimes the most impactful, where my expertise can truly create a space that heals wounds and sets up a canvas for future growth and success. I want people to reflect on their experience with me and feel grateful to have been cared for, deeply considered, and catered to. I want them to think of our time together as a joyful, creative time of growth and the planting of seeds of prosperity to grow in the future after I’m done with the project. I want clients to become friends, and to think of me as a trusted advisor, that they can call on when they need help, or feel stuck or simply want to share the joy in their lives. I want their home to operate like a well-oiled machine so they can focus on other tasks of life.
