We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephani Gutierrez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephani, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risks are a must in business. Risks build confidence even though you feel like a failure any risk that is taken is to see what works and how you can make improvement and grow. No business can grow if you think small and stay within comfortable limits. Every risk that we have taken was for the benefit of my family and being able to be a stay at home wife and mother.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I struggled for years with my long-time pet companion and kibble-fed pit bull terrier Tank aka “Papa”, Papa struggled with food allergies since he was a puppy, his list of allergies started with severe hot spots, oozing ear infections, and dry-itchy skin. As Papa aged he began to show signs of severe weight loss, loss of appetite, fatigue, and nausea. We spent thousands of dollars at the vet, fed the best “vet recommended” kibbles, and with countless medications Papa kept getting worse and he was soon diagnosed with stage 2 kidney disease.

During this time, we started conducting research on Papa’s medical conditions and began to create raw blends in the kitchen of our home soon we created a raw blend that was frozen and individuality into cut blocks with no packaging for easy feeding, which later evolved into one of their most popular blends, La Casa Blend. Papa was fed La Casa Blend for the remainder of his life, his life span was prolonged by 6 long healthy years, his allergies disappeared and quality of life improved and he had an appetite like never before.

Over the years our small family-owned business began to focus on providing pet owners an easy, convenient, and more affordable way to feed their pets a prey model raw diet with quality ingredients and our story has allowed us to rebrand and now call ourselves Ancestral Raw Nutrition which was created on the basis of how you can too successfully feed a prey model raw diet to naturally sustain your pet’s health.

We handcraft clean, healthy recipes made with human-grade meats in an CDFA Licensed and inspected facility. We control the consistency and quality of each product that we make that is not manufactured by a white label company. And we use the best quality meats from local American farms.

We believe in prolonging the lives of your pet companions and it is our mission to provide balanced raw pet food that is ground, mixed, and packaged individually that you and your pet will be able to benefit from a prey model raw diet and lastly, we believe in providing the absolute best customer service and to make each customer feel like family.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I don’t get much time to myself we work constantly and are always on the move but if I were to have some time for myself I’d go for a family drive alongside the coast of Northern California near Carmel and find the best authentic Mexican restaurant.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. My husband and business partner, Jay. We have asked God to provide and He always has and will, we always pray and ask Him to guide us in everything we do and my entire life is a testament to Him.
