We had the good fortune of connecting with Kailey Geary and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kailey, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
As a muralist and artist, my work is deeply rooted in the belief that art has the power to uplift communities, transform public spaces, and create meaningful connections. I view art as a tool for healing and inspiration, fostering a deeper bond between people and their surroundings. My murals incorporate elements of nature, sacred geometry, and vibrant aesthetics, breathing new life into industrial spaces that are often overlooked. Beyond just creating visually striking pieces, I aim to inspire a sense of wonder and encourage individuals to connect with their own creativity.

I’ve had the privilege of working with schools, youth programs, and local businesses to create collaborative, inclusive art experiences. Whether I’m teaching students how to paint murals or working on large-scale public installations, my mission is to make art accessible and impactful, especially for communities and young people who may not regularly have exposure to creative opportunities. Each mural becomes more than a work of art, it tells a story, invites self-expression, and fosters pride in the neighborhood. Through my business, I strive to not only beautify urban spaces but also inspire a sense of belonging, encourage people to dream bigger and contribute to the cultural fabric of the community.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My work embodies a blend of careful design and free, creative expression. With a background in environmental design, I have a deep technical understanding of space and structure that enables me to transform everyday surfaces into immersive, expressive environments. Growing up in the Colorado mountains, I learned to appreciate the fluidity of nature and the energy of its elements. I capture that spirit in my work by blending the precision of structured design with the organic spontaneity that challenges traditional boundaries and elevates urban spaces.

My journey to where I am today has been fueled by a combination of intuition, perseverance, and invaluable connections. Every day, I focus on small, meaningful goals that gradually build to larger milestones. I recognize that luck has played a part, yet it is the unwavering support from family, friends, and fellow artists that has truly sustained me. Through referrals and shared ideas, this vibrant community has not only inspired me but also provided the opportunities necessary for growth.

The path has not always been smooth. I have faced challenges with consistency and the inevitability of rejection. I have learned to see these obstacles as opportunities for improvement, never allowing them to dim the creative spark within me. Daily practices like maintaining a gratitude journal and meditating have kept me centered and resilient, even when the creative journey felt unstable. These habits remind me that the more I create, the more refined my craft becomes.

Over the course of eight years as a muralist, every project has been a unique dialogue among vision, community, and the physical space it inhabits. My years of art education and experience teaching have reinforced a commitment to connecting with others through art. I continue to embrace growth and creative exploration, remaining excited about the process of transforming my ideas into art that brings warmth, positivity, and a sense of wonder to those who experience it.

I want the world to know that my work is a reflection of a relentless passion for creativity and a belief in the power of art to inspire and uplift. It is a testament to the beauty of perseverance and the joy found in pursuing what I love, no matter how challenging the journey may be.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend visited the area, I would plan a week-long adventure that captures the vibrant energy of Denver and the natural beauty of Colorado. I would start our trip in the Rino Arts District, a true staple of the street art scene where every corner bursts with creative expression. We would wander through the galleries and admire the murals that capture the city’s artistic spirit. After immersing ourselves in the visual feast, I would take my friend to Cart Driver, where we could enjoy fresh oysters, delectable pizza, and a Dirty Martini to set the tone for an unforgettable experience.

We would then head over to Red Rocks Amphitheatre if a show was on, as the venue is world-renowned for its music and breathtaking setting. To embrace Colorado’s renowned outdoors, we might take a hike near Golden or even experience some skiing at Abasin. A visit to Boulder would be a must as well, with a leisurely walk along Pearl Street allowing us to explore local shops, street performers, and vibrant cafes.

The itinerary would not be complete without exploring other unique neighborhoods such as the Santa Fe Arts District, Highlands, and Washpark, each offering its own distinct charm and surprises at every turn. However, my absolute favorite escape is heading into the mountains for hiking, camping, skiing, and simply exploring. In the mountains, I find a deep sense of peace and connection that I would love to share.

Denver and Colorado are full of endless opportunities and hidden gems. I would craft an itinerary that not only showcases the urban cultural highlights but also connects us to the inspiring, natural landscapes that make this region so unique.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my family and friends, whose unwavering support has been the driving force behind my motivation and determination. Over the years, their encouragement, love, and belief in me have been essential in helping me stay focused and push through the challenges. They’ve consistently lifted me up, celebrated my wins, and reminded me to keep going, even when things got tough. I wouldn’t be where I am today without them, and I’m incredibly grateful for the role they’ve played in my journey.
