Meet Erick Ibarra | Alteza Properties

We had the good fortune of connecting with Erick Ibarra and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Erick, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I’ve never been afraid of risk — if anything, it’s shaped who I am. I look at risk as part of growth. It’s not about being reckless, it’s about betting on yourself even when the outcome isn’t guaranteed.
From the beginning, I made choices that went against the grain — like deciding not to go to college. A lot of people saw that as risky, but I knew school wasn’t the path for me. Instead, I focused on building something real. Same thing with starting my YouTube channel — I had zero idea if it would work, no experience, no audience… just a vision and the drive to try. And now it’s become a major tool in how I connect with people.
One of the moments that meant the most to me was when my parents trusted me to sell their house and help them buy their dream ranch. That was their legacy. They took a risk on me, and I took that responsibility seriously. That experience helped me realize this isn’t just a career — it’s about helping people make life-changing moves, just like I did with them.
Now, my wife and I are building a business together from the ground up. Every day involves new challenges, but none of this would’ve happened without taking those first leaps. Risk, to me, is just the cost of leveling up.

What should our readers know about your business?
Alteza Properties is more than just a real estate business — it’s a reflection of who we are, what we believe in, and the people we serve. We specialize in helping first-time buyers, sellers, and families — especially those relocating to Colorado — make smart, confident moves in one of the biggest decisions of their lives. What Daisy and I say, “Building Dreams, Beyond the Closing table.”
What sets us apart is how personal this is. My wife and I built this together from the ground up — and we don’t treat clients like transactions. We treat them like family. We bring transparency, education, and real conversations into the process, and we stay involved long after the closing table.
Getting to this point wasn’t easy. I didn’t go the traditional route — I skipped college, started from scratch, and took big risks, like starting a YouTube channel without knowing a thing about video or whether anyone would watch. I had to learn everything by doing — building relationships, earning trust, creating systems, and growing a brand that reflects real values.
One of the proudest parts of this journey has been earning the trust of complete strangers. There’s no better feeling than meeting someone who’s unsure, overwhelmed, or skeptical — and then watching that turn into belief, excitement, and eventually, a successful closing on their next home. That trust means everything.
Now I get to do it every day, with my wife by my side, helping other families write their next chapter. That’s what keeps me going — knowing that we’re not just helping people buy and sell homes. We’re helping them build legacies.
What I want the world to know is this: real estate is personal. And with us, you’ll never feel like just a number. We bring heart, hustle, and honesty to everything we do.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I have a handful of go-to spots in the city that truly represent what Denver is all about — a blend of great food, vibrant energy, and authentic local culture.
Tacos El Metate is easily one of my favorite taco spots — it’s lowkey, consistently excellent, and full of flavor. If I’m craving wings, Fire on the Mountain is the place. They’ve got an incredible variety of sauces, and the laid-back atmosphere makes it a staple. For pizza, I keep it classic with Sarpino’s — dependable, whether it’s lunch or a late-night bite.
For drinks and good vibes, Happy Camper and My Neighbor Felix always deliver, both offer that signature Denver energy — fun, welcoming, and full of character. If you’re in the mood for something a little more refined, Run for the Roses is a fantastic speakeasy-style bar with a great atmosphere and even better cocktails.
When it comes to an authentic sandwich, Carmine Lonardo’s Deli in Lakewood is unbeatable. It’s a true hidden gem — grab a sandwich, a cannoli on the side, and you’re set.
Outside the food scene, I always recommend a hike at Lake Isabelle — it’s peaceful, scenic, and the perfect way to disconnect and recharge. And if I really want to share something personal, I’ll take people out to my parents’ ranch. Whether it’s riding horses or making a Pajarete — a mix of alcohol, fresh cow or goat milk, and Nesquik — it’s a one-of-a-kind experience that always hits the spot.
These aren’t just my favorite places — they’re meaningful to me. Each one is tied to great memories, good people, and the kind of experiences that make Denver feel like home.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
None of this would be possible without my wife and my family. Building Alteza Properties with my wife has been one of the biggest, most fulfilling risks we’ve taken together. She’s my partner in life and business, and her belief in our vision keeps me grounded. And my parents — their trust in me gave me the confidence to lead, to build, and to keep moving forward.
