Meet Brandon Bennett | Dog Apparel / Pawdcaster

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandon Bennett and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brandon, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to elaborate on the dog and human connection through hand made dog and human watching apparel.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My journey to where I am today has been quite interesting. I moved to Colorado in 2008 with no job prospects, but soon landed a couple of gigs, including an unusual role I found on Craigslist at a startup luxury robotic massage chair company. I worked there for nearly 11 years, and what an adventure it was!
This experience taught me everything from sales and marketing—essentially interlinked—to logistics, which became one of my biggest bonuses. The core of my role involved creating a service program for massage chairs that spanned the globe. I had the opportunity to travel extensively, learning how to take a concept from its inception all the way to the factory, often via shipping routes, and then on to selling it and providing customer support for any issues or successes post-sale.
It was not an easy path; I worked incredibly hard, but my passion for entrepreneurship was sparked during this time. I learned the importance of valuing my time and the necessity of refraining from letting perfectionism hinder progress—a challenge I still face today.
Now, my shows are going wonderfully! I have the confidence to engage with anyone, and I manage many of the backend processes myself—though I am mindful of my time and energy constraints.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
What a great question! I have some solid recommendations, especially since I have friends visiting all the time. I’m a bit biased toward Longmont, CO, as it boasts some of the best food, breweries, and a thriving music scene. Plus, it’s conveniently located near Lyons and Estes Park, making it easy to access Rocky Mountain National Park. To the north, you have Fort Collins; to the south, Boulder, and of course, there’s Denver.
My nephew is actually coming to town soon, so I’m currently putting together a week-long itinerary of events. While we won’t be brewery hopping, we definitely plan to explore some fantastic tacos and pizza spots. We’re also going to tackle the incline in Colorado Springs and visit the stunning Garden of the Gods, along with spending some time camping in Salida and enjoying rafting afterward.
If time permits, we might squeeze in nine holes of golf at Sunset Golf Course, where the views are simply breathtaking. If we can make it to Red Rocks for a show, that would be the icing on the cake, but I’d also love to take them hiking there to soak in the scenery. If it’s warm enough, I like to get visitors out on a paddleboard or floating down Clear Creek in Golden, CO. Honestly, I could list so many amazing places to visit in Colorado because it truly is one of the most magical places in the world!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
It ultimately boils down to thanking my parents. They instilled the characteristics in me to work hard and do my best. I wouldn’t be here if it were not for them and I am truly grateful.
And Jim Carey once said, “ YOU CAN FAIL AT WHAT YOU DON’T WANT, SO YOU MIGHT AS WELL TAKE A CHANCE ON DOING WHAT
YOU LOVE.”
