Hi Dr. Chelsea, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Balancing parenthood with the demands of leading multiple companies has taught me the art of efficiency. To stay on top of responsibilities, I’ve developed a dynamic system of prioritized task lists and timed reminders for recurring projects. This structured approach ensures that nothing slips through the cracks.​

More importantly, I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with a team of driven, like-minded individuals. Together, we’ve demonstrated that the whole truly is greater than the sum of its parts. While challenges inevitably arise, our collective resilience enables us to navigate even the most daunting obstacles.​

This commitment to efficiency has allowed me to achieve a fulfilling work-life balance. I have the opportunity to channel my creativity and education into advancing holistic health for both people and animals, all while cherishing quality time with my children and family. It’s a true win-win.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Kind Botanicals was founded in 2022, inspired by a growing demand for trustworthy, plant-based wellness solutions. As veterinarians, we witnessed firsthand the positive impact of natural remedies on animals, and their caregivers often inquired about similar options for their own health. This motivated us to bridge the gap by offering holistic products tailored for people.​

Launching a small business in the CBD industry presented its share of challenges. Navigating complex regulations, combating misinformation, and establishing consumer trust required resilience and adaptability. Despite these hurdles, we’ve been heartened by a societal shift towards embracing holistic approaches to common health concerns.​

At Kind Botanicals, our commitment extends beyond wellness. We prioritize Earth-conscious practices, from sustainable sourcing to eco-friendly packaging. Proudly, we are members of 1% for the Planet, dedicating a portion of our sales to environmental causes and supporting local organizations that align with our values. Our journey is a testament to the power of nature, science, and community coming together to foster well-being for both individuals and the planet.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’re proud to call Loveland, Colorado, our home—a charming town nestled at the foothills of the Rockies, renowned for its vibrant arts scene and warm community spirit. Loveland boasts over 500 public art installations, including the renowned Benson Sculpture Garden, and offers outdoor adventures like hiking the Devil’s Backbone Nature Trail and enjoying water activities at Boyd Lake State Park.

However, Fort Collins holds a special place in my heart, having spent nine formative years there during my undergraduate and professional studies. The city has grown immensely, yet it retains its unique charm. A perfect day in Fort Collins might begin with a hike up to Horsetooth Reservoir, offering stunning views and a variety of outdoor activities .​

Afterward, exploring the local craft beer scene is a must. Iconic breweries like Odell Brewing Co. and New Belgium Brewing offer delightful experiences, from fire pits to hula hoops . For a memorable meal, Ginger and Baker provides a cozy atmosphere with its rooftop patio and delicious offerings. A visit to the new football stadium for a CSU game would be icing on the cake!

My business partner in crime, Trish Wilhelm. She was instrumental in getting our businesses off the ground and continues to be a vital component of our shared success. Her dedication and passion have not only propelled our company forward but have also made a significant impact on the lives of countless people.
