Meet Joshua Jones | Photographer & Videographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Joshua Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Joshua, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Discipline. I feel that discipline is the hidden superpower to any type of success. While motivation is great, it doesn’t stay on all the time and in those moments, you need to lean on discipline to keep you going. By staying disciplined in going out to cover events, edit photos and videos, and more even when I wasn’t motivated to do so, I’ve been able to push my personal brand!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
When it comes to my art, there are two things I’m trying to convey: A story and a sense of emotion. I believe that my eye for the details to convey this sets me apart! In addition, I’m excited about the fact that there are so many more levels I can take my art when it comes to conveying these messages.
Only through my connections while working for Memphis Football, the USFL, and Memphis Athletics have I been able to do the things I’ve done! It’s never easy, but doing the things you love allow it to not be stressful!
I just want the world to know that with my art, I want to make you feel that you were present within it!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
In Memphis, there are many places to see, eat at, and visit! On my itinerary, I’d definitely have to take my best friend to a Memphis Grizzlies or Memphis Tigers basketball game! Memphis is a big sports city, so that’ll always be an experience.
I’d also take my best friend down Beale Street where you can see street performers, live music, and so much more.
I’d show him/her the pyramid – which is a Bass Pro Shop and hotel! That’s just a unique spot in Memphis that you won’t see anywhere else!
As for food spots, I’d make sure to get them some world famous Memphis BBQ at a spot like Crumpy’s or Rendevous!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would shoutout first Jesus Christ, for without him I wouldn’t be able to do the things I love to do. Secondly, I’d like to shoutout a few of my friends: Cody, Zach, and Amani.
These three are the main catalyst for my love for producing creative content. In high school, I noticed that I was decent at producing images and videos but only saw it as something fun to do.
However , when I worked alongside those three for the Memphis football video department and saw the content that would produce, it inspired me to do the same.
