We had the good fortune of connecting with Jackson Blunt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jackson, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
For me, success is a journey, not just an end goal. Success is the steps taken to achieve the desired result. Growth is what comes from the steps taken, even if it is a step backwards I find it to be a learning experience.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art style is pretty unique. I am a fully self taught photographer, teaching myself the basics, rules, and how to edit. There’s been a lot of behind the scenes work such as networking, studying techniques, and going out and practicing. Over the past year and a half of my journey it definitely hasn’t been easy. I am a fully self taught time student at CSU, living on my own for the first time, so constantly overcoming new challenges within photography as well as my own life. I’ve learned that I need to stay motivated and focused on developing my style. I want the world to know I am excited to grow and document my journey and hopefully my work will inspire and evoke emotion.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’d definitely have our time planned around local music shows as well as the outdoors. Recently I have been valuing my time outdoors since my work keeps me in front of a screen most of the time. I am also a huge huge huge music fan as reflected in my work. Many local musicians are super talented and I love watching them perform live. I feel like that would be most of the time spent for the trip but I would also love to highlight some of my favorite food spots such as big city burrito and stuft.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Huge shoutout to Divine aka DVNHPPY as well as Abbey Hough with Word of Mouth Productions. These two have believed and supported me since I’ve started my photography journey allowing me to practice and give me some crazy opportunities.
