We had the good fortune of connecting with Joe Olivarez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joe, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting Holistic Tech Witch & Apothecary (soon to be EVOKE) was driven by my passion for holistic healing, spirituality, and making natural wellness accessible to everyone. I’ve seen how expensive holistic healing spaces can be, and I firmly believe that no one should have to pay over $150 for a simple herbal consultation or struggle to access natural healing resources.

My mission is to educate, enlighten, and heal people naturally, providing affordable and effective solutions for their well-being. I want to create a space where people can find holistic remedies, spiritual tools, and transformative healing practices without financial barriers. This is why I’m pursuing my doctorate in naturopathy—so I can continue to expand my knowledge and offer even more support to those seeking natural healing.

For me, this business isn’t just about selling products; it’s about empowering people to take control of their health, reconnect with nature, and find healing in a way that feels right for them. That’s why I’m evolving Holistic Tech Witch & Apothecary into EVOKE—to evoke transformation, self-discovery, and true healing in those I serve.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business, Holistic Tech Witch & Apothecary (soon to be EVOKE), is more than just a holistic wellness brand—it’s a movement rooted in affordable healing, education, and empowerment. I believe that everyone should have access to natural remedies, energy healing, and spiritual guidance without financial barriers. Too often, holistic healing spaces overcharge for simple services, making it inaccessible to those who need it most. My mission is to bridge that gap by offering high-quality, effective holistic solutions at a price people can actually afford.

What sets EVOKE apart is the way I integrate herbalism, energy healing, breathwork, and metaphysical practices into everything I do. I’m not just selling products—I’m creating a space for transformation. I offer a range of herbal remedies, spiritual tools, and holistic healing services, but what excites me the most is the opportunity to educate and guide people on their personal healing journeys.

Every Sunday, I lead meditation and healing sessions, creating a space where people can come together to breathe, release, and realign. It’s one of the most rewarding aspects of my work because I get to witness real-time transformations and help others reconnect with themselves on a deeper level.

Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy. Like many entrepreneurs, I faced financial struggles, self-doubt, and moments where I questioned whether I was doing the right thing. But every challenge became a lesson. I learned to trust my intuition, stand firm in my mission, and never compromise on my values—especially when it comes to making holistic healing accessible.

I want the world to know that EVOKE isn’t just a brand—it’s a call to action. It’s about evoking healing, empowerment, and transformation in everyone who crosses my path. My journey has been shaped by resilience, passion, and a deep-rooted commitment to helping others heal naturally. And this is just the beginning.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting for a week, I wouldn’t just take them to the typical tourist spots—I’d immerse them in the magic of Colorado, connecting with the land, the energy, and the people who make this place so special. For me, the best way to experience this area isn’t just through shops and restaurants, but by going deep into the forests, exploring healing spaces, and camping under the stars.

Day 1: Arrival & Grounding in Old Colorado City
• Start the trip with brunch at Garden of the Gods Market & Café—great food, cozy vibes, and the perfect place to fuel up.
• Walk through Old Colorado City, exploring the unique shops, local artists, and metaphysical stores.
• Grab some coffee at Jives and soak in the laid-back, artistic energy of the area.
• End the day with dinner at The Burrowing Owl, a cool, vegan-friendly spot with great drinks and a chill atmosphere.

Day 2: Manitou Springs & Exploring the Energy of the Area
• Head to Manitou Springs—this place is full of magic, history, and high-vibrational energy.
• Visit the natural mineral springs, explore the quirky shops, and stop by Lulu’s Downstairs for live music.
• Hike the Manitou Incline if we’re feeling ambitious (or take a scenic walk through Red Rock Canyon Open Space).
• End the night with a visit to SunWater Spa for a soak in the mineral hot springs under the stars.

Day 3: A Visit to EDENOLOGY – A True Holistic Healing Experience
• We’d spend the day at EDENOLOGY Holistic Wellness Center, my second home and a space that has welcomed me like family.
• My business partners, Andria and Keuna, have created something truly special here, and my best friend would get to experience the healing, the community, and the high-vibrational energy of this place.
• A personalized healing session—whether it’s energy work, shamanic practices, or holistic treatments.
• I’d lead a meditation session, allowing them to fully ground and absorb the experience.
• Spend time with Caitlyn, who has empowered and supported me like a sister since the very beginning.

Day 4-5: Deep in the Forest – Camping & Reconnecting with Nature
• Now for the real adventure—heading out into the mountains! We’d pack up and drive to a secluded spot, set up camp, and let the real magic begin.
• Spend the days hiking, foraging for herbs, meditating in nature, and just being present with the land.
• Cook a fire-roasted meal, tell stories under the night sky, and sit in silence, listening to the wisdom of the forest.
• I’d lead a sunset breathwork session to help us fully ground and reconnect with ourselves.
• Morning meditations, herbal tea by the fire, and grounding barefoot in the earth.
• We’d create a little forest apothecary, crafting teas, salves, or smudges from what we find.

Day 6: Returning to Civilization – One Last Magical Night
• After spending time out in the wild, we’d come back refreshed and renewed.
• Lunch at TAPAteria, a cozy tapas bar in Old Colorado City.
• Visit Crystal Hill or another metaphysical shop to pick up something special as a keepsake from the trip.
• End the trip with a final sunset hike at Garden of the Gods, reflecting on everything we experienced.
• Dinner at Four by Brother Luck, because it’s one of the best spots in the city and the food is incredible.

Day 7: Departure & Closing the Trip with Intention
• Before they leave, I’d lead a final meditation and breathwork session to seal in the energy of the trip.
• A stop at a local coffee shop to grab a drink for the road.
• And finally, send them off with a custom herbal blend—something I created just for them, based on our time together.

For me, the best way to experience Colorado isn’t just in the city—it’s in the wild, in the healing spaces, and in the connections we make. I’d want my best friend to leave not just with great memories, but with a deeper sense of self, a renewed spirit, and the magic of this place woven into their heart.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I wouldn’t be where I am today without the love, support, and guidance of so many incredible people. First and foremost, my parents are my biggest inspiration. We struggled a lot growing up, but they always found a way to keep a roof over my head and provide for me, no matter what. Their resilience and strength shaped the person I am today.

My husband is my grounding force—my rock in all things. Through every challenge and every success, he’s been there, keeping me steady and reminding me of my purpose.

My family as a whole has played a huge role in my journey, but especially my sister, Priscilla, who has been my biggest supporter and a second mother since the very beginning. She’s always been there for me, and I wouldn’t be who I am without her unwavering love and encouragement.

In my early days, Marylynn Mac, an Akashic Records reader and massage therapist, was instrumental in helping me step into my path. She offered wisdom and support when I needed it most, and I’m incredibly grateful for her guidance.

I also want to recognize my old friends and partners who first introduced me to the metaphysical world. Even though I won’t name them for privacy reasons, their impact on my journey was profound, and I carry that knowledge and experience with me every day.

My spiritual, life, and business coach, Myra Brennan, has been an absolute force in my life. She runs Under the Mayan Moon and has helped me grow not just in my business, but in my own personal and spiritual development. Her wisdom has been invaluable.

And finally, a massive shoutout to the entire tribe at EDENOLOGY Holistic Wellness Center. They have done nothing but support me, uplift me, and allow me to step fully into my power. Andria and Keuna, the amazing owners and healers, welcomed me in like family, while Caitlyn, who is like a sister to me, has done nothing but empower and encourage me to step into my greatness.

Every single one of these people has played a role in my journey, and I’m beyond grateful for their presence in my life. Their love, guidance, and belief in me have fueled my passion for holistic healing, and I hope to pay that forward through the work I do every day.
