Meet Antonella Willete | Baker at Gaucha Bakery

We had the good fortune of connecting with Antonella Willete and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Antonella, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The main thought about starting my own business is bringing a part of home, in my case Argentina. It is the feeling you get when you first try this food, and it just takes you to parts of your life you might have forgotten while being far.
Gaucha Bakery exists to gift that moment of joy while enjoying with friends, family, or by your own.

What should our readers know about your business?
Gaucha Bakery is just starting its own name in a foreign culture but prepared to attract people who are also living in a foreign country and of course, inviting American people to try a little piece of our Culture without the necessity of travelling. We import ingredients from Argentina, to bring it straight to their table, to bring them joy and love, in a piece of food.
In Gaucha Bakery, we are excited for the past, because it taught us how to act, plan, and decide over the tough times. We are excited for the present because people can see how this project reflects our values, love and dedication to proudly represent the Argentine Culture and bring it to the world. Last of all, we are excited for the future, praying for this project to grow, multiply and give work to many people who also aligns with our values.
It was not always easy to walk in the real world with a project going on, but it is the daily effort, the endless nights, see our mistakes and change it, make it better, learning every day.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I actually had my family visiting for two weeks. I wanted to show them why Colorado is called Colorful, so we went on a road trip around the state. We took them to local breweries, typical food, and tried so many different dishes. We love to go camping, and this state is a special place for that.
Of course, I took them to Red Rocks, and some viewpoints around the front range.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Since I was a little girl, I always had the curiosity to see my mom and my grandma cooking and baking, sharing their techniques with me, and teaching me how to prepare our family recipes.
While growing up, I was also interested in all kinds of arts and crafts. Baking became my most important hobby, and friends and family started supporting the idea of selling baked goods from home.
It wasn’t always like that; I had my time while going to college, dedicated my time to a completely different career, but not long enough, I realized it wasn’t for me.
Then, I dedicated my last few years to the rushed gastronomy world, where I met people and colleagues who taught me which things I don’t want to repeat while working in my small business. Thanks to all the people who taught me wrong and right, I’m now, building my own project and choosing to love my job every day.
