Meet Sarah Arntt | Health and Wellness coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Arntt and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sarah, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting my own business came about after I learned how to do AcuDetox to better serve the clients I worked with when I was employed with a local detox service I realized the benefits of auricular therapy and how ear acupressure could help all people not just individuals who were having issues with substance abuse.
I personally was treated with earseeds by a co-worker who was in school to become a licensed acupuncturist and experienced immediate relief from excruciating back pain from a weightlifting injury. It was then that I knew I had to share this with people in the rural communities. I decided to further my knowledge by taking the training to be come a certified auricular acupressure provider with the use of acupressure. I wanted to be able to better support other people in and around my community to have access to an alternative wellness tool. A tool that does not include any medications or interactions with medications a person may be taking. After that initial 13 week training I continued to explore and research more training to be able to service a variety of individuals. I have since completed a master practioner training that includes using the biology of the body to create a treatment protocol
I was out running one day letting my mind wonder when the name Growing Our Mindset came up. It encompasses my love of plants, looking at the way our mindset impacts our life. I believe the way we think impacts the way we feel and by coaching individuals to alter their mindset they can directly impact their overall wellbeing.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
By trade I am an addiction counselor who manages a detox line of service inside a hospital. But in my heart and soul I am a healer who practices a few different healing modalities. I currently have to keep the two worlds separate but use the skills I have learned in both areas. I am a master Reiki practitioner, attuned to Crystal Reiki, and I am trained in sound healing also known as frequency or vibrational healing. I am able to combined the use of Acudetox or auricular acupressure, Reiki, and Sound all into one setting to help an individual’s energy bodies work towards self healing.
It is important to understand that practitioners do not do the healing we simply guide the natural chi or universal life energy into the energy field of another to support their own healing. Similar to a therapist holding space for a person as they unravel their thoughts and put them in a more rational or organized manner energy healers guide the energy of others to heal themselves. The human body and energy body is truly a magical machine.
The thing I am most proud about is my ability to network and bring individuals, agencies and organizations together to better serve their communities. A year ago I created a professional networking group that primarily started to serve the northeastern region of Colorado but has since grown to include organizations and agencies from across the state. I was recognized last summer as a Community Champion by the Behavioral Health Administration for my networking and drive to better service our rural frontier counties access the supports they need for all whole person wellness. This group is called NECO-STIR (Northeaster Colorado-Share, Talk, Interact, Remember) a group of professionals who are working together collaboratively to serve Colorado residents.
How did I get where I am today as a professional? Oh wow, that’s a loaded question! It was not without it’s fair share of tears and frustration. I was a mother who went to school full time, while working full time, and had to learn to navigate through a lot of trails of life. It was not easy by any means, but with the support of my two daughters Sierra and Alexandria and several of my family members and close friends I was able to persist. After I got my bachelors I just took the first job that allowed me to use my degree, which happened to be on a detox. I learned so much from people who were in the cycle of addiction that I too was able to learn and grow over the years. That growth led me to want to be a better person, learn more skills to better serve others, and to help decrease stigma and bias around the perception of addiction. I took the training to become an addiction counselor and invested in my knowledge to better serve people.
I learned that addiction was never a choice, that it is a disease, and way to escape reality. Many people struggle from past traumas and stress who did not have any other way to cope. I learned that no matter what all souls are valuable and deserve to be treated with dignity and love. It was with this love for people that I started to explore better treatment option or wellness tools to help people. Driving me to the Acudetox training which was followed by all the other trainings and personal growth.
I want people to know that their trauma does not define them! I am a survivor of childhood abuse and neglect of all types, I identify as a person with social anxiety who is able to use healthy coping skills and interpersonal relationships to management the disorder to work diligently to build a life I love. My story is not any different than many people. It is a story fraught with trauma, stress, and sadness that I was able to turn into a driving force to become the person I needed in my past. I always say if I only touch the life of just one person in a good way to make them have a better life than my life was successful.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I think it is important to note that I live in a very rural area so hopefully my friend is not bothered by long car rides! We would probably start our day with coffee at the local coffee shop called The Magick Bean who serves locally crafted pastries and treats or we might do a quick trip through the coffee shop Books on Main or Peppy’s Coffee all small locally owned stores with great coffee right here in Fort Morgan Colorado!
For meals I can’t recommend the local food trucks enough my favorites are the Pupuseria:El Tamarindo or Fahrenheit 851 Pizza.
My friends and I are always up for some fun thrifting experiences so we would have to stop into Steiner SILS Second Chance Thrifts stores.
For a nice sit down dinner weather permitting enjoy the open windows or patios at Kukaro Brewing in Fort Morgan.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to say thank you to Ellie and Tova Goldschmidt for creating the Original Earseeds Certification program now called Thrive Ear Seed Education. Without Ellie and Tova having created their training program, and providing great support throughout the process I would not have known about the incredible power of healing held in the auricle or outer part of the ear.
I would also like to provide a shout out to my former Supervisor Rachel Watson for allowing me the flexibility in my work schedule to attend the Acudetox training that eventually led me to be introduced the services provided by Ellie and Tova. It never ceased to amazing me how everything always lines out for the best.
