We had the good fortune of connecting with Christopher Schneider and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christopher, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I found I harbored an unusual amount of curiosity and patience when it comes to learning new technology and being able to deliver it back to the new users I was training at my W2 jobs with good feedback and success. The ticket count by new users diminished significantly when I took over the onboarding part of the IT Department so it was proved once again that education and training was the solution.

There will always be fear around new technology and resistance to it’s adoption. I fill that permanent gap of career security.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I began my tech career as a self-taught IT migrations support specialist with a focus on Windows Operating System migration projects across all industries in Chicago in 2007. The new user empathy I carried into that career has stayed with me throughout as I now pivot into yet another path of coaching the new world Operating Systems, LLMs and AI systems.

I have been a self-taught tech throughout my career and pride myself on finding opportunities in the IT industry and moving there with a *quickness* to be part of the solution right way. That took a ton of work, discipline, and creativity but I had a lot of help along the way.

The biggest lesson I learned along the way are the two best pieces of advice I was ever given and followed. The first was “Find something you love to do and find a way to get paid for it.” I love to learn and I love to teach, and what I do now is a perfect combination of both as an AI / ChatGPT Coach. The second was “Remain teachable” and that one has driven me to stay in the voracious learner lane as I marshal those around me in the spirit of an AI Literacy Advocate.

If I could offer the world a flashing banner of who I am and what I do, it would be that I am here to give it bite sized morsels of AI that they can digest and have a good time doing it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Short and sweet: We’d be in Aspen for skiing as long as our legs could stand it, then hot tubs and steaks if it were Winter. It has been my lifelong dream to live in Colorado and I view my life since I moved here in March of 2018 as early retirement of sorts.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My old PM and friend Tanya Keyser gave me the chance to get back in the classroom where I belong, and to be a software trainer & coach, when she plucked me out of the doldrums of IT Support in 2019 for a Federal Microsoft 365 Training position. I wouldn’t be where I am today without her help!
