Hi Laren, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
Giving up is not an option – Not for my clients, families, or myself. Roadblocks are common in this field, learning to navigate these with grace and humility is a cornerstone of Brick House. We will always keep trying, might be a hard skill for a client, a hard truth for a family or a hard navigation through the current climate in Colorado. We are strong, like Bricks. When obstacles happen, as they do, I remember very important people are counting on us to navigate these blocks with as much ease, laughter and grace as possible.

What should our readers know about your business?
We provide client first care, there is no other motivation then doing what we love and doing it well. We believe in science and the value of research. We utilize methods that would support a client to achieve progress, 1 brick or 100. We strive to grow into value based care with our funders. We build partnerships with clients, families, community members and professionals. We are honored to serve. We are honest, we can do hard things and we believe in enriching every single member of our Brick House.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Windsor, Colorado has been a magical community to join – outdoor concerts, lake days, bike rides and a small town feel – we feel right at home.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family for embracing diagnosis and showing me a brand new world that I feel in love with, Thank you to the Tudor Family.
My cheerleaders to include my parents Sean and John, without your support Brick House wouldn’t be possible. To my aunts, uncles, cousins and all family and loved ones. Thank you for supporting me and cheering me on. Every single child I have worked with from Cheyenne, Wyoming to Fayetteville, North Carolina to Niwot, Colorado to now currently Windsor, Colorado. My mentor and previous clinical director Anne Denning – Consultants for Children – Thank you for giving me a home for 10 years and supporting my growth – My peers and colleagues, smartest people I’ve ever met. I’m honored to have shared learned and have grown with you.
