Meet CHRISTEN MILLER | Founder & CEO, Diversion Hope and Training Center LLC | Founder & Executive Director, Future Endeavors Life Program (F.E.L.P.)

We had the good fortune of connecting with CHRISTEN MILLER and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi CHRISTEN, how does your business help the community?
F.E.L.P. (Future Endeavors Life Program)
F.E.L.P. exists to help youth and young adults realize that their current circumstances do not dictate their future. Through evidence-based emotional regulation, workforce readiness, life skills, entrepreneurship, and mental wellness programming, we equip participants with practical tools to overcome barriers and build successful futures.
Our programs have served hundreds of youth and families throughout North Carolina, including students in schools, juvenile justice settings, community programs, and underserved populations. We address challenges such as emotional dysregulation, behavioral issues, academic disengagement, workforce preparedness, and mental health awareness through our N.O. C.A.P.® Emotional Regulation Framework and other development initiatives.
Beyond direct services, we create sustainable community impact by training educators, mentors, case managers, and community leaders to deliver these tools within their own organizations. By strengthening both individuals and the systems that support them, we help create healthier schools, stronger families, and more resilient communities.
Diversion Hope and Training Center LLC
Diversion Hope and Training Center LLC creates scalable educational and workforce development solutions that improve personal, professional, and community outcomes. We provide certifications, curriculum licensing, professional development training, emotional regulation education, and workforce readiness programs for schools, community organizations, behavioral health providers, correctional settings, and businesses.
Our work helps organizations reduce behavioral challenges, improve communication, strengthen leadership skills, and support employee and participant success. Through programs such as our Anger Management Specialist Certification, Emotional Regulation and Workforce Success Training, and N.O. C.A.P.® Licensing Program, we equip professionals with practical tools they can immediately implement in their workplaces and communities.
The broader social impact comes from multiplying the reach of these programs. Every professional we train has the potential to positively influence dozens or even hundreds of individuals annually. By combining mental wellness, workforce development, and education, we help organizations build healthier environments, improve outcomes, and create pathways toward long-term personal and economic success.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My career has been built around one mission: helping people realize that their current situation does not dictate their future. More than a decade ago, I stepped away from traditional employment and founded Future Endeavors Life Program (F.E.L.P.) to serve youth and families through education, mental wellness, life skills, and workforce development. Since then, I have expanded that work through Diversion Hope and Training Center LLC, where I develop curricula, provide professional certifications, and create tools that help organizations strengthen emotional wellness and personal growth.
What sets me apart is my ability to transform lived experiences, professional expertise, and community needs into practical solutions that create measurable impact. Whether developing the N.O. C.A.P.® Emotional Regulation Framework, certifying Anger Management Specialists, authoring award-winning books, or helping individuals launch businesses and careers, my focus has always been on creating systems that empower others to succeed.
The journey has not been easy. Like many entrepreneurs and nonprofit leaders, I have faced funding challenges, limited resources, and the uncertainty that comes with building something from the ground up. Those challenges taught me resilience, innovation, and the importance of staying mission-focused even when progress feels slow. I learned that impact often begins long before recognition arrives.
One of my proudest accomplishments is seeing the ripple effect of the work. The individuals we train go on to serve youth, families, schools, detention centers, workplaces, and communities, multiplying the impact far beyond what one person could accomplish alone.
What I want the world to know about my brand and story is that transformation is possible. Through education, emotional wellness, and opportunity, people can rewrite their narratives and build futures they may have never imagined. My work is not simply about training or curriculum it is about helping people discover their potential and equipping them with the tools to thrive.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting Fayetteville for a week, I would introduce them to the people and places that make our community special. We would start downtown exploring local businesses, grabbing coffee/tea, and experiencing the growth and energy happening throughout the city. We’d spend time at the beautiful trails and outdoor spaces around Cape Fear River and visit local parks that provide opportunities to relax and reconnect with nature.
As someone who is passionate about service, I would also introduce them to the organizations and community leaders who are making a difference every day. Fayetteville has a strong spirit of resilience, collaboration, and entrepreneurship that often goes unnoticed by visitors. I would take them to community events, networking gatherings, and local festivals where they could experience that culture firsthand.
Food would definitely be part of the itinerary. We would support locally owned restaurants and small businesses that contribute to the unique character of the city. Throughout the week, I would also introduce them to some of the amazing educators, entrepreneurs, veterans, nonprofit leaders, and youth advocates who are helping shape Fayetteville’s future.
What I love most about this area is not necessarily a single attraction it’s the people. Fayetteville is a community filled with individuals who are working every day to create opportunities, strengthen families, support youth, and improve the quality of life for others. That’s what makes it feel like home, and that’s what I would want any visitor to experience.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout goes first to God, whose grace, guidance, and purpose have sustained me throughout my personal and professional journey.
I am also grateful to my family, mentors, community partners, board members, volunteers, and supporters who have believed in the vision even when resources were limited. Building organizations that serve youth, families, and communities is never a solo effort. Every program delivered, every book published, every training conducted, and every life impacted has been made possible through collaboration and shared commitment.
I would especially like to recognize the educators, counselors, social workers, community leaders, and helping professionals who continue to pour into others every day. Their work often happens behind the scenes, yet they play a critical role in creating healthier families, stronger communities, and brighter futures.
Finally, I want to acknowledge the youth and adults we serve. Their resilience, growth, and determination inspire the work we do and remind me daily why creating opportunities for healing, learning, and success matters.
Their support, trust, and partnership are woven into every chapter of my story.
