Meet Gloria David

We had the good fortune of connecting with Gloria David and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gloria, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Everything I build is centred around people. I use storytelling, arts and community projects to celebrate diverse voices, preserve culture and create opportunities for connection. My long-term vision is to build platforms that empower creatives, support communities and inspire positive change.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Storytelling has always been at the heart of everything I create. As a multidisciplinary creative, my work explores themes of home, identity, belonging, migration and community. Through storytelling across community projects, public speaking, writing and creative experiences, I create spaces where people feel seen, heard and connected.

What sets my work apart is that I don’t see creativity as an end in itself. Every project begins with people. Whether I’m leading a community storytelling workshop, speaking on identity and belonging,

contributing to cultural festivals, or creating spaces where diverse voices can be heard, my goal is always to create meaningful social impact.

My journey hasn’t been straightforward. Moving to the UK meant rebuilding my network, finding new opportunities and establishing myself in a new creative landscape. I overcame those challenges by embracing collaboration, volunteering, saying yes to opportunities and consistently creating work that reflects my values.

Today, I’m proud to contribute to projects that celebrate culture, preserve stories and strengthen communities. My work often explores what home truly means not just as a place, but as a feeling of belonging, identity and human connection. These themes continue to shape my creative practice and inspire the conversations I hope to create.

One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned is that everyone carries a story worth hearing. When we create spaces where people feel seen, heard and valued, creativity becomes a powerful tool for belonging and transformation.
I want people to know that my work is about more than creating art. It’s about creating connection. Through storytelling, I hope to preserve culture, build bridges between communities and inspire others to find strength and belonging in their own stories.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend visited Cardiff for a week, I’d want them to experience the city through its people, culture and creativity. We’d explore Cardiff Bay, Bute Park, Cardiff Castle and the beautiful arcades before grabbing coffee at one of the city’s independent cafés. If there was a cultural festival like Tafwyl festival, that would definitely be on the itinerary too. We’d finish with fish and chips at Penarth Pier while watching the sunset.

As someone whose work explores home, identity and belonging, I believe the best way to experience a city is through the stories, communities and connections that make it feel like home.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to every mentor, community and arts organisation, collaborator and creative whose belief in me has created opportunities to grow.

From the people who trusted me with opportunities to tell stories, lead creative projects and serve communities, to the individuals who have generously shared their own stories with me, each has played a part in shaping who I am today.

I also want to recognise the communities whose stories continue to inspire my work. They remind me that storytelling is more than creativity; it’s a way to preserve culture, build belonging and create meaningful social impact.

My journey is proof that no one succeeds alone, and I’m grateful to everyone who has walked alongside me.
