We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandi Mason and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brandi, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
From the outside, I felt like I had it all: a successful career, a loving husband, 2 incredible children, a strong support network of friends and family, a house in the mountains of Boulder, Colorado. Still, something felt like it was missing.

After investing in therapy and coaching, I realized that none of these things would feel fulfilling unless I decided to live a life based on my meaning and purpose. By using methods inspired by ancient Greek philosophers, I stumbled upon an effective way to do this.

As a seasoned executive, I leveraged my expertise in strategic planning and sustainable productivity to develop a system that allowed myself and others to consistently live in a contented state of being happy, healthy, and prosperous, or as Aristotle called, “Eudaimonia”. This system is composed of a framework, accountability tools, and physical reminders which are designed to bring and maintain a feeling of fulfillment in three core areas: family, work and self.

This system is most impactful with individuals who are high-performers and want the most out of life. They want to be good people and do good things in the world. Most importantly, they have been trying everything they thought they should be doing in their career and at home, and something still feels like it’s missing. My system will fill that void and allow them to finally feel fulfillment in all areas of their life.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
At BB Ties, we help you find what’s missing in life to make you feel fulfilled and happy. We do this through trainings, coaching, and simple reminders.

Unlike standard coaching or therapy, we co-create a structure with our clients called a Fulfillment Framework. This Framework outlines the client’s personal identity and creates a vision for how they want to be in their personal, professional, and family life based on their meaning and purpose. Clients then decide on supporting goals to achieve each vision, and we create a set of quarterly activities to achieve each goal.

Once the Framework is in place, clients pursue these goals with the support of accountability tools such as weekly check-ins and coaching. We also have products, BB Ties and BB Mugs, which serve as physical reminders for clients to help them be successful in each vision. These wrap-around services result in significantly higher levels of success for clients to reach their potential and find fulfillment in life in a relatively fast amount of time.

Our program is most impactful with individuals who are high-performers and want the most out of life. They want to be good people and do good things in the world. Most importantly, they have been trying everything they thought they should in their career and at home, and something still feels like it’s missing. BB Ties will fill that void and allow clients to finally feel fulfillment in all areas of their life.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would invite them to stay with my family in our house in the mountains of Boulder. We would go on hikes out our backdoor, relax in the hot tub, and eat on the deck at sunset while watching the deer and listening to the chickadees.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Children’s Book Author and musician, David I.A. Mason. His most recent book “Gus in the Big City” is about gaining the courage to use your skills and talents. The number one reason my clients don’t go after their dreams is because of fear….fear of not belonging, fear of not being perfect, fear of not living to their potential. “Gus in the Big City” shows what happens when kids put their fears aside and go after their goals with the support of friends and strangers.

David I.A. Mason also happens to be my husband and is incredibly supportive in helping me go after my goals. Whether it’s a crazy new health kick or starting a company, he helps me be successful each step of the way by offering words of encouragement, cooking family dinners, taking care of the kids, and editing my website. We split all of our household activities and work responsibilities 50/50 so we can equally go after our goals inside and outside of our home. This is so important to the health of our marriage to make sure we can both feel like we have the resources we need to reach our potential.
