We had the good fortune of connecting with Cody Galloway and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cody, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
The event world on it’s own is fast-paced, stressful, and all hours of the day…. add starting and sustaining your own event business and a couple kids to the mix and to put it simply- balance was not a word I used very frequently/ever. Enter a global pandemic and a mass shut down of the entertainment and hospitality industry…and we went from peak business we had seen in three years to virtually zero business within the course of a week. Call it divine intervention, serendipity, luck etc whatever it may be (at the time- it was very unfortunate). but for once in my life (and most certainly in the last 10 years) I was able to slow down and reevaluate what balance means to me, and how to prioritize it. I spent a LOT more time with the people that matter most to me. I scheduled time for myself to be alone and outdoors in nature, I stopped answering emails well into the night. Enter Megs (and her brilliant concept to bring balance to other peoples lives through TULA) and here we are. I am more passionate than ever about helping others prioritize with purpose and empowering people to ask for help and find more time in their days to spend on things that matter most to them.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve been in the event planning world for almost 15 years. Most of which has been spent in the Non-profit sector helping create, build, and manage fundraising events. I started my own event consulting company with two partners in 2017, and is still operational today.

Megan Trask and I have been friends for over 15 years and timing on starting TULA could not have been planned better, after the event world came to a halt in March of 2020 and she was in the early stages of flushing out her brilliant idea. I suddenly had a lot of time on my hands, and joined forces with her officially in June of 2020 to conceptualize and help build what TULA is today.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Run along the highland canal or outdoor yoga class, healthy breakfast at green collective, hike at Mathew Winters, lunch at Vert Kitchen, Concert at Red Rocks, or a little biking brewery tour, dinner at sushi sasa
