We had the good fortune of connecting with Gregory Beckham and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gregory, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk has played such a HUGE role in my life. I believe that if I never took certain types of risk throughout my life, I know I would never be happy with myself. Back story is that I never wanted to get out of my comfort zone. I enjoyed the basics, I enjoyed my paycheck, and I enjoyed the same experience daily. I had nothing to worry about. I was just there… But then it hit me. I asked myself, is this what I want to do my whole life ? Do I really believe that I am only good enough for the simple things? No… Im not! I’ve hit my lowest point in life and I was tired of doing everything the same. For 10 years I’ve been working at previous job, stressing, unhappy, unmotivated, and I was exhausted living that way. I decided that this was enough. I needed more, I needed to feel something. I need to get out of this dark place and find the enjoyment of life! Long story short, I committed myself to changing and challenging myself to become a different person. I’ve finally moved the needle in my life and I knew that going into Real Estate was the best decision I’ve made in my life. I passed the exam and I officially became a Real Estate agent. Becoming a Realtor during the pandemic was a little difficult. There were multiple restrictions and most people thought the world was going to end. I had people around me say, “oh this is a bad time to be in the real estate world”. I had negative people and negative energy surrounding me. I didn’t like it. I needed to eliminate some factors. I took a risk and I stopped seeing the people who would be negative about everything. I didn’t want to be part of something that I knew would bring my mood down. I hit the reboot button in my life, quit my job, made new friends, and started to be part of a social pipeline that would help be grow as a person and for my business. Last year I made only $20 dollars and that was only for taking someone for a property tour for another agent. I knew that quitting my $80K salary would be challenging but I wasn’t going to let a little set back break me down. I found a way to keep going. I continued to push myself to the point of going stir crazy. I was all in, and I’ve failed multiple times. Multiple times I wanted to quit. Multiple times I said to myself, “Greg, maybe this is just not for you”. But I knew if I started to believe in that then eventually I would quit Real Estate and go back to living my comfortable life. Guess what… I didn’t want to be comfortable. I wanted to take a risk in myself and see how far I can go. If I can be a top performing at my previous job, then Im confident that I could be a top performer for my own business. It was scary, leaving a good job, leaving a steady paycheck, leaving awesome associates. But I knew that I had more to give to this world. I knew that I am social butterfly and I could be really great if I set my mind to something I really love. Being a Realtor in the Denver market has been an amazing journey. I have learned a lot. I have meet so many new faces that come with benefits for my business to grow. I took a major risk for myself to become that. I’ve learned to become patient. I’ve learned to love myself. I’ve learned that hard work does payoff. 2020 was an interesting year, but 2021 was the year my business skyrocketed and my personal development turned a new leaf. I had taken a major risk and have turned it into a major success.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
When I became a Realtor I asked myself what kind of real estate agent to I want to become. I get it I’m new. The ones that have been in the business for many years have a different style. I was not going to get in the way of that. I was also not going to follow the same pattern as everyone else. I wanted for the people I met to forget about Real Estate, I just want to work with people. I am building my business on people I know and the people they know. Especially since they know my track record and commitment to doing my very best. In result, having your own style and your own rhythm people recognized that. They loved it. Here is a new young Realtor who operates differently. I am fast, I am quick and I pay attention. For get about the numbers ! It’s not about that. It’s about about bonding with clients and connecting on a level that is different. Im sure there are agent’s out there who are just like me or vice versa. But it’s the personality that counts. It’s the follow up that matters, and not just here and there. Im talking they are part of your sphere forever. That is an experience I would never give up on.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First place I would recommend is obviously the Red Rocks! That is gods creation that you definitely do not want to miss and what the community has done to what it is now is one of kind. Second is Cosmos Pizza, one of my favorite by the slice pizza parlor in Denver. Third, the Union Station has Coopers Lounge, A) they has really good drinks and B) it’s a piece of Denvers history to be in.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to thank g-d for always being there. He has always protected me. He had kept me under his wing. I knew that if I just continued on this new road that he would be there for me. He has helped me realized many things about myself. I thank him for that! My family, my friends and all the wonderful people I’ve met throughout my career so far. They have given me positive energy and positive vibes and that really helped me grow. My mentor who is hands down been patient with me. She has helped me with all the mistakes I’ve made and we’ve turned those into golden nuggets. Watching Ryan Serhant on YouTube and reading his book has really shown me what potential I have. I would like to thank everyone that has been part of my life and thank you for being there for me. The feeling I have I cant even explain.
