We had the good fortune of connecting with Dizzy Grant Diamandis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dizzy, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking a risk to start something new or unique has always been and will continue to be hard. Most people or hardly anyone will believe in your vision. If you have enough knowledge or at least a starting point of how you get there you should be fine. In my case I struggled a bit to get support from nonprofit organizations to create an event that helped the community on HIV AWARENESS. After the success of my first event that I hosted they believed it me more enough to have a second event. If I hadn’t taken the risk in reaching out and executing my vision my projects would of never had happen.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a drag queen, I belive in helping the community out in ways that do not have to be just about promoting the sales of alcohol. I belive in helping out by promoting awareness like PrEP and HIV awareness and how to prevent it. I had to have a very rude awakening from my own community and just had to make a stand. by creating the show PrEP’ed I created a show that is both educational and entertaining to watch. I also created a format for the attendees to participate and win free swag/goodies. Hiv affects everyone that’s why I created this show for the soul purpose of getting the whole lgbtia+ community and the straight community to gather for one night and be aware of the resources they could have in order to combat hiv. The process was not easy but definitely was worth it, I’ve learned that without taking a stand I would go nowhere and be silenced or ignored. I would like the world to know that not all performers are not all the same, some of us like to help people out and actually care about the safety of others and their well being.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I owe the gratitude to the non-profit organizations such as Hey Denver, Vivent Health, Colorado Health Network and connect 4 Colorado for believing in me for the success my events have had also local shops from Denver for donating goodies for attendees.
