Meet Natalie Ball | Esthetician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Natalie Ball and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Natalie, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
I think one of the most successful habits I’ve had is to be consistent.
Of course when you first start a business you don’t have a large clientele and it’s also hard to get people to believe in you. However, even when I did have clients or business I consistently posted pictures and/or interesting facts to keep people interested in my social pages and to build their confidence in my work.
It was a long journey and it took a lot of perseverance and consistency on my end, but I believe by continuously showing up and showing people what my work looked like and showing them what I knew how to do, people slowly began to build confidence in my business and my skills as an esthetician.

What should our readers know about your business?
I got to where I am today because I made the choice to start my own little business out of my living room. I literally owned 10 towels (enough for about two facials, max) and heated them up in a crock pot. I only had what I had been given in school, nothing extra, nothing more, but somehow I made it work.
I started my business by inviting friends to come over and get facials and then have them repost me to their social media. It was really hard to grow at first, but my friends really helped me by always reposting me and always saying the nicest things about my services.
I did have to learn a lot of lessons. I got scammed the first time applying for my business license and what should have cost me around $50 cost me like $400. I also had some people working for me that took advantage of me and definitely charged me way too much money for their “help”. I definitely wouldn’t say I know everything, not even close, but I am much more cautious now when making decisions for my business.
The one thing I do pride myself on is that I am continuously learning and trying hard to progress in my career. I currently have a medical director, Dr. Kofford, and between working with him and always studying, I would say that I try very hard to know the ins and outs of my career. Of course there is still so much more for me to learn, but I do put my best foot forward everyday to grow and learn as much as possible.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
It sounds cliche of course but honestly my parents really helped me get through school. I told my parents I wanted to go back to school and without a blink of an eye they footed the bill and let me pay them back in payments. Without their help I wouldn’t have been able to go back to school and pay for it at the same time. They are truly so supportive of me and all of my endeavors.
