We had the good fortune of connecting with Axel Learn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Axel, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking risk is a necessary part of life, and a huge part of my career. The content creation career path is very challenging, as there are many talented creators out there. In order to take the next step in my personal career, I had to take a huge leap of faith and moved to Wausau, Wisconsin away from everything I knew for a job opportunity.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am primarily a sports videographer/photographer, and also known for my drone assets. I believe my portfolio of high level athletes is what has helped set myself apart from others in my field. I got here by staying very patient, and dedicated to my craft. There were times when I couldn’t find work, and ended up in Local News. But this just inspired me to reach out and put myself out there for better positions. I have found that you have to take chances, apply for jobs you may not think you are qualified for, and then work your butt off to make it happen. Being a hard-worker, and good person goes a long way.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We are lucky to have a bunch of awesome things to do here in Colorado Springs. I would probably start with a tour of Garden 0f the Gods, followed by a stop at Red Leg Brewery. We would definitely stop by the new restuarants on Tejon st, like COATI or Streetcar 520. We also have a brand new Downtown Stadium for the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC, which is absolutely stunning, so you have to check a game out there!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My wife, Elle, has been a huge pillar of support, love and encouragement in my life. She took a chance and picked up and moved half way across the country so that I could chase my dream and try to further my career. Without her unwavering support, I have no doubt that I wouldn’t be anywhere near as successful as I have been the past few years. She gave me the love and motivation I needed to continue pursuing my career.
