We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Pascua and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lisa, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
I believe the most important thing I’ve taught my kids is to follow their passion. I took my love for yoga and turned it into a business because I believed it’s what filled my soul and found true contentment. This in turn helped my kids believe they can also follow their dreams and passion to become whatever they wanted. Anything is possible if you have faith and strong work ethic. I work hard so they see that in me every single day.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I decided to enroll in yoga teacher training as a way to expand my own practice. I never knew if I’d like teaching let alone be good at it. I was definitely out of my comfort zone when I began teaching but people kept coming back. I am comical by nature and made yoga informative and safe but always fun. I laughed at my mistakes and let them go. Letting people know that I’m not perfect and that is perfectly ok! I believe my honest, real self shines through and makes me very relatable to all different walks of life.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If a friend came to visit I always take them to our family restaurant Stix n Brix. It’s a wood fired pizza place; delicious food, excellent wine and it’s small and cozy. It’s also where I taught my first yoga class. We would take a yoga class, usually mine. We’d walk or bike the Chicago lakefront weather permitting (of course) and find a hot spot to brunch or have a cocktail! SUNDAY FUNDAY is my favorite!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband Steve! He has been my rock from the beginning! He’s there to troubleshoot what comes my way. He’s always in my corner and ready to help me tackle the next obstacle. I definitely could not have come this far without him.
