We had the good fortune of connecting with Justin Savoie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Justin, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I would have to say that it’s because of my core values. I believe in telling the truth to my clients and not giving them an answer that they just want to hear. Many agents will give them a line just to keep the process going and not truly protect the client. I also believe in treating them as they are my family. To have good conversations so that we work together in unison to bring the right outcome for their futures.
Another factor is I take pride in educating my clients in the home ownership if that is from buying an existing house or from the ground up. Education and knowing about home ownership brings value for everyone going forward.
I have also chosen to build my business off of my clients and friend’s referrals instead of buying leads. I have found that this way of business has a stronger bond with the client. Clients are important going forward. There is no better referral than word of mouth.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I work with clients to achieve their picture of their unique environment and what they envision as Home. Every individual and family have their own visions and ideals of what is important to them not only in their community, but in their neighborhood, schools, friendships, and family keeping in mind what provides for them the most comfort and security. It takes experience to identify those elements for clients in not only the first purchase of a home but with each of their next homes and to market the special elements of their existing homes. Working together with my clients as a team to determine their needs is so important for success. It all starts with a conversation, the sharing of goals and sharing of their experiences to reach their goals. Conversation and openness are key to the right fit.
Probably the hardest thing to recognize professionally is the need to put yourself in the shoes of the client(s) that you are working with. Having the right conversations, knowing the right questions to ask, identifying the needs of everyone involved. One might have an idea of what is needed but it is really what the individual wants. Learning how to read your customer/client is so important. Providing the right questions and suggestions are truly key in keeping the experience and the results successful. Losing a customer/client because of a lack of conversation is a lesson. I believe that has happened to all of us.
Honesty, sincereness, and being the right fit for my customer/client is what I would want people to know. Brands are intangible items but word of mouth and doing the right thing are so key and so important to my story and success. Being of sound character, conscientious and honest is what I want people to know.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In Colorado, where does one begin. There is probably more than a week’s worth. Our downtown area is full of people-watching on the 16th Street Mall, checking out all of the restaurants, breweries, and shopping would be one of the ways to entertain. One could explore the art murals and Denver’s booming RiNo neighborhood. There is the Denver Botanic Gardens (depending upon the time of year), Denver Museum of Nature and Science and the Denver Art Museum just to name a few.
Road trips could involve the Rocky Mountain National Park, Garden of the Gods, the Olympic Center in Colorado Springs, Red Rocks, Mesa Verde National Park, the Great Sand Dunes, Maroon Bells, Crystal Mountain and Telluride just to name a few. In the winter with skiing being one of our primary industries could involve places like Aspen, Vail, Breckenridge and Winter Park just to name a few. If not downhill skiing, there is always cross-country skiing and snowshoeing as options. Hiking in season could involve hiking the flatirons, Hanging Lake Trail, the Manitou Incline and St. Mary’s Glacier just to name a few.
All in all, there is nothing lacking for anything to do in Colorado. You just need to turn a corner and there is something fun and exciting for anyone.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give a Shoutout to my wife Kristin Savoie and my two sons Easton and Asher. They are my energy, my drive, my life. It is for them that I enjoy doing what I do. Their love, support and encouragement are always there for me. I do my best to make them proud of me.
My two always supporting parents, Marcel and Cathy Savoie, who help me start my business many years ago and have encouraged me to do what I enjoy. They have taught that it takes a village to love, support and to be the kind of person that brings value.
My clients who have allowed me to assist them in buying and selling with them. They have taught me what it takes to understand, to be supportive and to learn how to be not only a friend but a conscientious and loyal person. They have taught me how to be the right fit for their needs.
