My favorite quote is one my dad used to say all the time before he passed away in January. Whenever I was feeling mentally drained or didn’t feel like doing something, he would look at me and say “you don’t have to…you GET to”. I think about that a lot and how it’s affected my life when I apply it to my job with cars. I don’t have to follow my dream, I get to. I don’t have to work with cars, I get to. I am so thankful for my dad and all he did for me, especially pushing me to follow my dream of being an automotive influencer. He loved women representing themselves in male dominated fields and I’m glad I “get to” do that every day. Read more>>

SPEAK OFTEN OF YOUR JOYS. A WELL-UNDERSTOOD PROBLEM IS HALF-SOLVED. SIMPLICITY IS THE HIGHEST FORM OF SOPHISTICATION. These three ideas drive everything I do! The first one reminds me that the things that delight and give joy are the things worth investing in. In relation to my business, lifting burdens from people so they can love their businesses again brings me so much joy. It also helps me to keep my eyes on what matters: Read more>>

Yes! I do. My favorite affirmation to myself is “Begin Again.” One of my struggles has always been staying consistent and moving forward when things get difficult (especially with my music). I used to have a terrible, self sabotaging habit, of giving up if I made a mistake or if things weren’t going the way I anticipated. I’d get frustrated and quit. What I realized later was that things will never go completely smooth. There will always be roadblocks and barriers, and things will get stressful. But that’s not a reason to stop or quit! Just take a break. Rest. Take a step back and reset. If a goal is that important to you, it doesn’t have a deadline. And then once you’re ready, begin again. Read more>>

“When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile.” This is one of the nicest I’ve come across thus far. Life is painful, and failure is inevitable. A particularly bad day in one’s life crosses one’s path. But that doesn’t mean I should sit and cry; I know that even if today is the worst day of my life, tomorrow will be better. Failure comes in the form of teaching us something, so take use of it. This knowledge will come in handy at some point in your life. You have a limited time on this planet; if you squander it sobbing, you will miss out on something valuable. As a result, it is always preferable to focus on the positive parts of life and smile. “Life Is The Sum Of Your Choices” – Albert Camus I think that this quote is one that has resinated with me for a really long time. It often can be applied in many aspects of my daily life without even realizing it. I oddly even find myself saying things like “Make Good Choices” to my teenage children. I think this quote says a lot without saying a lot. I was raised in a hardworking, lower middle class family. I was taught from a really young age that anything worth having in life, isn’t just handed to you- you have to work for it. Read more>>

“We often forget that we are nature. Nature is not something separate from us. So when we have lost our connection to nature, we’ve lost our connection with ourselves.” _Andy Goldsworthy Andy Goldsworthy had a tremendous influence on me while I was attending art college. His creative process of connecting with the land inspired me and steered me towards what I do today. The essence of this quote is the backbone to the mission of my small holistic wellness and arts business, Listening Pines. Read more>>
