We had the good fortune of connecting with Sean Minikin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sean, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Honestly, I am pursuing photography as a way to share the beauty in life that others may not get a chance to see due to their life circumstances. I love photography, its so therapeutic and for me helps keep me centered. But, it all comes down to sharing those moments with people.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I try to keep the shots I do as raw as possible with minimal edits. I love to try and make the perfect capture using settings withing the camera itself working all aspects. I do enjoy the creative process with after the fact edits, filters etc. But for me nothing beats a good raw and emotional shot. Getting where I am at now…well I really just recently branded and started working on spreading my wings in the professional photography world (think it was in August last year). I have a love of getting nature and wildlife but have started working in portraiture and more creative stuff. In the last few months I have been able to get work put in galleries internationally and in 2 online magazine publications so far.
I am super excited for this as it adds to exposure and sharing my art and moments with as many people as I can

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My wife Shantell is a driving force in getting me out there. I never really shared what I did but she encouraged and pushed me getting me to where I am or where I’m headed. Her love, patience, encouragement, and support have made a world of difference.
