We had the good fortune of connecting with Shana Doshi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shana, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I live by allowing myself to push limits and try anything safe. Adventure in risk taking has allowed me to experience some of the most epic moments of my life. You can give yourself a boundary and still push that limit. If I didn’t take risks, I would be missing out on life’s unexpected stories.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Destination Diamond was an idea that became a need for those looking to propose marriage. Starting with the excitement of the ring design we further educate our clients with an experience shopping for that perfect diamond ring to give their future spouse. The yoga and adventure retreats were a secondary phase that became popular very quickly. Deep down at my core I really enjoy helping others. Having a business filled with good news and fun interactions make it a dream to live this story every single day.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Aspen is an epic city! My favorite restaurant is Clark’s oyster bar. I met some of the most interesting people there and always had an amazing meal. Late night spot would be Eric’s Bar. Fun music, really cool shuffle boards and pool tables with lounge like music and a cigar bar. The Jerome hotel bars and the St. Regis were also really great mid- day and post dinner spots to hang out at. Sterling night club has a great vibe and I always enjoy the dance parties there!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Being one of nine children, I learned at a young age that hard work paid rewards. My parents gave me a solid foundation to become the independent entrepreneur that I am today. My friends however shaped me, and they have been there for me through thick and thin. They say that your friends are the family you choose. From neighbors to co-workers. They were all there to witness the boundary pushing, risk taking moments. I love them all so much!
