We had the good fortune of connecting with Glenn Hattem and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Glenn, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Being curious enough about my clients to love up on the parts of them they’re hyper-critical about so thy can heal and believe in their dreams that they want to realize is essential. I ask questions and give healthy feedback to demonstrate that I understand WHY they are stuck currently, so we can work together to improve things.

When it comes to coaching others you have to ask better questions to understand someone’s world they’re living in that’s a different interpretation than yours. By caring enough to go deeper beneath the explanations and words used it’s critical to come from a place where you are well-resourced and courageous enough to follow your own intuition on where the conversation needs to go vs coming with a set agenda and holding steadfast to it when it’s possible that something better wants to happen.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
For 3 decades I’ve been a Coach, Consultant, Mentor and Author, helping thousands of high-achieving, men and women around the world Get Unstuck, Get Empowered, and Transform their Business, Health, and Relationships.

I guide the 1%, the resilient, self-reliant providers who seem to have it all: money, success, and status. They’re weekend warriors who have the marriage, the kids…but they can no longer ignore the gnawing emptiness that’s not going away.

I’ve been a competitive multi-sport athlete and fitness/gym fanatic my whole life. I enjoy high-altitude wilderness activities: skydiving, rock climbing, hiking, mountain biking, running, rafting, and snow sports. I’ve even swam with a few whales, sharks. In my younger years I enjoyed team sports: crew, track, x-country, wrestling and swim. I’ve even been a model.

I’m a free spirit, extremely motivated and driven, and not afraid of speaking raw, bold universal truths. My passion is living a clean lifestyle, paying attention to life’s lessons, and discovering strategies that work. These days I celebrate clients sharing the deepest, most courageous and transformational work they’ve ever done to break-free, activate their intuition, and leap into their greatest success.

In My 20s I was a bad boy, hustling in the SF Bay Area, making mistakes and learning quickly. I was full of passion, on fire, and business was BOOMING! I invested everything into my business growth.

In My 30’s I landed in Boulder/Denver, Colorado for the Rocky Mountains multi-sport outdoor lifestyle, worked with top-tier athletes, SWAT teams, numerous Billionaires and corporations, PhDs, Ivy-League alumni and studied extensively peak-performance, sports and spiritual psychology, exercise physiology, bioenergetics, epigenetics, nutrigenomics and personal and business growth. I was fighting the good fight to maintain my competitive edge and unique identity.

In My 40s my long-term relationship ending in toxicity and heartbreak from ignoring the problems ignorantly hoping for a miracle until shit hit the fan, business direction shifts and some good wear and tear injuries would take me into a personal identity crisis that seemed to last forever. I hadn’t felt such fear ever before in my life. Though this triumph of humility and fierce resolve I came into a realization that there are losing, compromising seasons and also revealing winning seasons in life. The real litmus test was getting in touch with my authentic self and committing to show up 100% myself, rooted in love, take it or leave it in becoming a self-made success story!

All these important lessons would lead to my ability to provide a safe and powerful structure for DEEP WORK life coaching. I’ve studied and embodied universal truths of ancient wisdom and modern truths and developed Optimal Living courses. Every time you draw strength from yourself and humility you birth a new version of yourself out of the previous cluelessness.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When friends come to visit colorado I might take them to LoHi in Denver for a walk down to union station and along the way grab a bite from a wide selection of fun spots. Maybe shoot down to Wash park for a run or just to hang out and people watch. But the main goal is to get back to Boulder and then head up into the rocky mountains for adventures (Hiking, Mt biking, trail running, skiing, snowboard, rafting, rock climbing…you name it!)

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Falling Upwards by Richard Rohr really explained well the 2nd mountain of life for me as I was going through a dark season of the soul and a total life transformation from the inside out. Also, I’ve always reached out to work with several coaches and various aspects of my life I wanted to grow and expand.
