We had the good fortune of connecting with K.C. Pomponio (Zingmaster Flex) and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi K.C., what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I was able to peer through the common place standards in the industry, which inspired me to construct an innovative approach to the way clothes, music, and books aided people in self actualization.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve been writing songs since age 16. I would drive out into the field out back of 29th, light some marijuana, and put down whatever I though could capture my listeners imagination. However, my original goal was to be a baseball pitcher in college. But a broken ankle set me back a ways. I eventually built my strength up and went to Lamar CC in southeastern Colorado, only to drop out at spring break because I couldn’t throw hard enough. That’s when I drove out to Los Angeles, and began what I would describe as a beat style fashion of street dwelling, and for three years I perfected my abilities while starting up my clothing brand, which is called Steezydelic. I’m most proud of the way in which I turned a basic goal, being a tough rapper, into a spiritually enlightening movement universally.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’d probably hit some bars in old town Fort Collins, or maybe drive up to Estes Park. If it’s a girlfriend I’d take her shopping at Centerra and catch a movie.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Boy, there’s a myriad of influences behind my work. Anything from Christian and Buddhist scriptures, to artists like Dizzy Wright and Logic, books like Quiet Strength by Tony Dungy, the Celestial Prophecy by James Redfield, How to Argue and Win Every time by Gerry Spence. I also couldn’t have done it without my parents, Ken and Melissa.
