I like to remind myself “better done than perfect”! I’m a stubborn perfectionist and if I were only listening to my gut I’d rather go for “everything or nothing”. Sometimes this helps me to get things done rather than having a mind block because it’s not as good as I imagined it. In the same vein, a fellow artist once told me that the best versions of our projects are always going to be in our heads anyway. This also helps me deal with unattainable standards! Read more>>

One of my favourite quotes is “you can’t steer a parked car”. It’s helpful to me because often as an entrepreneur (and in life generally!) we can get stuck ruminating and worrying and trying to figure things out all the way to the end goal, but sometimes the best thing we can do is just start and adjust along the way. “Be a professional in everything you do.” I recently heard this quote and it really resonated with me. The story went that no matter the time of day, be it morning, afternoon, or middle of the night- you should be able to stand up and be a pro. means to take a look outside of your fears and the negative” what if”. You can what if this and what if that all day long and talk yourself out of something amazing you could do or become. I like that it can remind you not to let fear control your decisions. The growth you go through as a person when you push through your comfort zone and get uncomfortable is what it takes to be creative or step into being an entrepreneur. Read more>>

“Life goes on, days get brighter” -Mac Miller To me this is saying that no matter what challenges life throws at you that it does and will get better with time. Although short this is one of my favorite quotes because it reminds me to keep pushing forward. Read more>>

“This Must Be the Place” This is a saying that we have used for awhile around the studio. I think it really speaks to all aspects of what we have created here. Rush Cycle has opened so many doors for myself and others, introduced some of the most influential relationships, and is a place of happiness, positive energy, and safety. I know that when I walk through those studio doors that I will be greeted with a smile and I will leave feeling so empowered. Who wouldn’t want to be apart of a place like that?! Read more>>
