Our community is comprised of some absolutely brilliant entrepreneurs and so we asked a few of them to tell us the story of how they came up with the ideas for their business.

After losing my job, in the middle of the pandemic, I spent many days at home, thinking about how to make money. I tried to make cakes, I managed to sell 3 but I felt that it was not my passion, until one day on my way home, talking to my husband, he suggested that I go back to what I had studied, photography, at first I was afraid but I decided to give it a try. It was the best decision I have ever made in my life. I started taking photos of my daughter and my friends and when I realized it I already had many clients and my business kept growing
Adriano Avila | CEO and founder of FUTBOX
Futbox was emerging little by little. It started in 1982, when I was 11 years old, spontaneously and unconsciously. I come from Belo Horizonte, the capital city of a state with many mountains and waterfalls. I graduated in Advertising in 1997 and owned a graphic design agency for 10 years. In 2007 I had the idea to combine my skills with my passion for football. Brazil is a country that breathes this sport. In 2011 I got an investor partner for the portal. Read more>>

That’s how we came out with EcoLife Car Wash: a mobile waterless car wash service. Read more>>

I had a few people who saw the designs- encourage me to find an outlet to somehow sell these, and so T-Shirts were the medium I chose. I took those designs from pen and paper to my Ipad, which was quite an ordeal, because I had zero experience with illustrator apps of any kind. Read more>>
Cole Noble | Adventure Writer
About halfway through a climb up Kelso Ridge, my friend and I ran into a lost hiker. She was alone and boxed in at the bottom of a steep gulley. We helped her back to the trail and invited her to summit with us; I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone more relieved to see other people. On the way to the top, we shared stories, and learned she was on a trip to scatter the ashes of her pet. Speaking with her gave me the idea to do a kind of adventure writing I don’t see a lot of. Fulvio Montano | Graphic Designer & Video Editor
When I started selling online my graphic design creations, the idea wasn’t to start a business, it was just a way to free my creativity doing things I like and, maybe, get some extra bucks for my holidays. As the pandemic and lockdown era started, and from one day to another I stopped working, I figured I had to focus on building an alternative besides my job as a video editor.
After doing a lot of online research I realized I could take advantage of the exponential growth of e-commerce driven by the fear of the pandemic, so I decided to give it a try. Read more>>
