We had the good fortune of connecting with Aaron Michael and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aaron, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
My favorite affirmation I say each morning is “I am Love.” Nearly four years ago I realized the most important thing to know and feel is that we are, and everything is, in a form of love. This “love” is something that can be palpably felt in your chest, your heart, and provides us with positive feelings of warmth, connection, knowing, and more. It was connecting with this recognition that I am Love that grounded me in a sense of well-being and gave purpose to everything I was doing.

I started my company by weeding people’s yards about the same time I was realizing the importance of the love in all things. In the course of this realization and through connecting with the Earth, which loves us when we love it back, you could find me dancing in someone’s yard amongst the plants, feeling that all is perfect in the moment and it feels pretty dang good. In a resolve to share this loving realization and recognize a connection with the Earth that many people were missing, I called my company “Earth Love Gardens.” I felt the whole world had the birthright and responsibility to authentically connect within ourselves, each other, and the Earth.

The external world reflects our internal world and a loving world is one where people live in community, realize we are a part of nature, live joyfully and wholesomely. I had felt a calling ever since realizing that I am Love to create the beautiful world that it is meant to be. I strive to always live in authenticity, be a light, and offer as an example of a good human being and ecologically-responsible business owner.

In operating Earth Love Gardens since 2018, we have made numerous community gardens, nearly 200 garden beds and hoop houses for families’ homes, and designed dozens of pollinator and edible landscapes. The green abundance that is grown, the benefits that come from touching the soil, the pollinators and birds that are provided with habitat are all “fruits” of a good-hearted world. The authentic joy I see in our clients and the community that benefits from the gardens that we create is nothing short of magical. This is all from the knowing and reaffirmation each morning that “I am Love.”

I welcome you to affirm “I am Love” to yourself and feel who you are and what you are inspired to do, be full of the most positive, connected, and satisfying purpose.

What should our readers know about your business?
Earth Love Gardens creates garden beds, hoop houses, and edible and pollinator-friendly landscape designs. Since 2018, we have been consistently designing and building gardens. We love to focus on the vision and creation of a healthy world; one where connecting and working with the soil and the plants is part of a joyful, healthy, wholesome life. I am proud of the success of Earth Love Gardens in the amount of gardens we have created and the wonderful mutually beneficial partnerships we have made, such as with the Audubon Rockies.

I come from a business background with a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Marketing from Florida State University. Realizing that humans’ relationship with Earth is in dire need of responsible stewardship, I made my professional focus to be one that benefits humans and the rest of the ecosystem, alike. It took years to find a successful business model that would be self-satisfying, in demand, and offer a product and service that is inherently good in countless ways.

I have learned along the way to have a guiding light full of purpose that you always live in and aim for, which in my experience is in the appreciation that all is love. Such makes your life so much easier, in that even in the most difficult times, your truth always remains. In working with the Earth and in many other industries, there are many directions you can go that have ample demand, but does your passion lie in those paths? I have learned to stay true to myself in my business, letting go of the opportunities that I am not excited about and going towards those that make me authentically happy, which in turn offer the best results.

I want the world to remember what I have learned, that all is love. In days where it appears the world is in chaos, it is healthy to find order and a grounded, peaceful spot within; one where you can find the calm and take positive action from. It is absolutely wonderful to have a healthy connection within ourselves, with each other, and with the Earth; all of which Earth Love Gardens promotes. If everyone could realize and live this simple connective concept, I believe the disconnect that people and society experience, along with its symptoms, could be solved.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If a friend were visiting we would go on a nice, peaceful hike in the mountains. It would also be nice to find a relaxing wildflower meadow, sit by a creek, or swing on a tree swing, sharing good fun and conversation. If it was winter, we could go to Wonderland Lake in Boulder and have a snowball fight, make snowmen, snow angels, and generally just run around in the snow. My friend and I could also walk Pearl Street in Boulder and visit the Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater in Morrison.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Someone who was the catalyst in my realization that all is love was when a man named Matthew Silver visited Boulder, Colorado in 2018. Matthew Silver for years had been sharing his videos online of eccentrically spreading the message of love. Matthew would do this by dressing up in leotards, making music, dancing, and much more in the public squares of New York City, all with the overt message that everything is love. When Matthew visited Boulder, I was excited to meet this man who did not care about social norms and spread a powerful, yet not-so-serious message.

Upon his visit, Matthew Silver would host events where he and the crowd would express themselves in fun, improvisational ways. All of the exercises in going outside the box made it clear that the brain did not always need to be in control. I noticed and reflected upon myself at one of Matthew’s improvisational movement events on Pearl Street in Boulder, that Matthew was an embodiment of love. I said to myself “Matthew Silver is love.” Something then “clicked” for me and then I realized “I am love.” I have been repeating this affirmation ever since.
