We had the good fortune of connecting with Aaron Pyne and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aaron, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The entire inspiration and process for my business has been derived by my experiences in meditation. During my inner journeys through mediation the format, structure, goals, and various aspects of the business were defined and created. My entire endeavor is oriented around my inspirations from meditations. I new what I was creating was going to be very different than anything else out there. No one has combined the concepts of meditation, story telling, and gaming into one experience. It’s required an immense amount of creativity to develop how it works, the story, and the technology to implement it all. Even with such a huge process before me, that is still continuously revealing itself, I knew at my core that this could be a profound tool to help people, so I keep that in my heart and mind as I develop it all. Within the core of this program I’ve built, users develop their Avatar, a mythical persona that they envision themselves as exploring different magical worlds. There are also fun activities (quests) to help bring that persona to life to help you approach life’s challenges from a different vantage point. For example, mine is the “Elven Wizard,” an ancient magic users that’s deeply connected to nature. I step into this persona regularly, much like an actor takes on a role, to help me feel empowered, inspired, and confident that I can handle whatever comes at me. This also brings new levels of play, creativity, and inspiration to work and life. Although I implement many standard business techniques from my years of web design and marketing, I also often ask myself when faced with challenges or new situations, “how would the Elven Wizard do this?” It makes it all much for more fun, and my I believe my customers can feel that!
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My new business endeavor, Inner Realms Journey, is a fantasy-themed adventure game that users embark on through a series of audio-guided meditative experiences. Unlocking the power of your imagination, users enjoy the fun of an epic heroic journey with all of the mental, emotional, and physical benefits of meditating. This is a completely new style of meditation and personal transformation. It is the culmination of my life’s work, study, and practice. One of the biggest challenges in creating this is the level of stepping out of the box required to make this and bring it out to the world. For many it’s far out there. It combines things like fantasy, a bit of Role Playing Gaming (RPG), and meditation, a combination many don’t get. It’s rooted in many ancient styles of meditation, but it’ evolves them into a new form that is more approachable, but no less powerful. We’ve also developed a powerful kids curriculum from it that transforms the education model from external based, to internal based. It is a “disruptive business” across several niches. This is a great benefit and also a challenge at times! Through the process of creating this, I continue to learn to trust my inner guidance and to push the boundaries because the world needs it!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’ve got a fun little camper van which I use to get into nature as much as a possible. So any friend coming to visit me must be ready for an adventure in it. We’d stop at some local organic groceries and load up the fridge. I’d take them through boulder and grab some majik elixers at Tonic. If there interested, we’d check out some of the shops in Boulder as well. Then we’d stop at the Peoples Crossing trail and show them the Red Rocks, with a bit of meditation or Avatar flow movement at the top. Then we’ll make our way up Boulder Canyon. Stop for some pics and a dip in Boulder Creek and check out the Waterfalls. rom there, we’ll stop in Nedarland for a drink and snack at New Moon Bakery and Cafe. Likely check out the Nature Owns rock shop for any majikal trinkets. Then head up 7 to some beautiful lakes, mountain vistas, and camping spots between there and Estes Park. There’ll be plenty of hikes, photos, meditation and majik to soak up all that mountain mana!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Mother Nature & the Trees. Nature has been my inspiration, my guide, my souls home, my ally, and my devotion since I first got to really explore its majesty and magic in my late teenage years. My work is dedicated to help support the restoration of nature and our reconnection to nature. I meditate as often in nature as possible, and many of my ideas have come from it. Thus, I’d like to give a shoutout to Nature!
