Hi addison, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
I believe that consumers are unaware of how cost effective sola wood florals are when planning a wedding.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My name is Addison Rivera, and I am a sola wood floral artist. You may not have heard of what sola flowers are. Sola wood is produced from a plant called aeschynomeneaspera. This plant grows wild in marshy areas around the world and processed into paper like sheets. I then cut and shape each one individually to mimic and actual flower. Sola wood is eco- friendly, hypoallergenic and maintainable alternative to real fresh flowers. I have been in the wedding industry a little shy of 5 years. I would have never imagined owning my own business, it has brought me joy in every aspect. The scariest thing was making the plunge to just get started. Everything was new to me, and I had to really push to get my name out there. I strive on giving couples a stress-free experience and one that they will remember. Designing your floral vision has to be FUN and that’s also something I want my clients to feel. Every arrangement is a keep sake. Sola wood won`t dry, wilt crack or fade with time. Unlike silk flowers sola wood can be made with any type of color scheme with a complete custom vision. Remembering your wedding is something you don’t ever want to lose. Having a keep’s sake sola wood arrangement is the cherry on top.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I was born and raised in Albuquerque New Mexico. Our culture is very rich in food, art and scenery. I have lived next to the Sandia Mountains all my life and it never seems to get old. Albuquerque, Rio Ranco and Santa Fe have thousands of amazing hiking trails that you just can`t miss out on. We have amazing food and tons of local brewery’s that make any day exciting. Anywhere you drive you can`t miss seeing our famous chilies and how they enhance New Mexican food.
