We had the good fortune of connecting with Adriana Lorenzi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adriana, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The fact that LINGER is the only tribute to The Cranberries music in United States. And this is one of the reason I started this project: being unique. There are many tributes to other iconic bands from the 80s and 90s, why competing with well established bands?

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What makes LINGER different from other tributes bands, besides being the only tribute to The Cranberries in United States, is that we are not trying to imitate integrally their music, or the unique way their singer, Dolores O’Riordan used to sing. We just do our best in an organic way (not using backtracks), to be ourselves and give our personal touch to everyone’s part, respecting iconic sounds, guitar solos or riffs, bass parts, and some voice tones from the original songs. So this sets us apart from other tribute bands, because all that you listen to in our shows is totally live and authentic.
Also, I consider that a “tribute band” should be for a band that doesn’t exist anymore. In this case Dolores, the original Cranberries singer, past away. And this was one of my reasons to start a band dedicated to their music, since I’m a big fan and had tickets for their concert in Denver, but a few months before she past away.
On the other hand the connection between us on stage is projected to the audience engaging them in the show, even if they’re not big fans of The Cranberries music.

What I personally did to get to this point after 2.5 years with this project and 40 live shows in Colorado and 3 mini-tours in WA, AZ and RI, is what I’ve been doing in my 26 years of experience in the music business: Perseverance. I don’t get a “No” as an answer.
I personally achieved many goals in my own music career: Opening major Latin artists concerts in Venezuela (where I was born) like: Ricardo Arjona, Voz Veis and Rebelde; had one of my songs “Palabras” at the top ten in MTV Latino in 2007; Have performed in all the major cities in my country Venezuela, also in Canada, Italy, USA and Cayman Islands. And this year I became a member of the Latin Recording Academy (Latin Grammys), thanks to all the credits I got through all these years in my own music projects and other bands as a musician, producer or sound engineer.
Definitely it was not easy, because you get a lot of “No”, but if you keep humble and focused on your goals, you learn how to go around these people that have the power to give you a show, a record deal or something important to get a higher step in your career. Also you get to recognize who really has an opportunity for you, and who is just another scam, having always in my mind that “not all that shines is gold”.

The future plans with LINGER in 2025/2026: tour the 12 cities in United States where The Cranberries were supposed to perform in that tour in 2017/2018 that never happened, and get to record a first album with original music.

And my plans with my company Lorenzi Music is produce music events and being a booking agent for other bands as well. I already have contacts all over United States since I’m doing the management and booking for Linger, so I would like to help other bands and grow my business as well.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take my best friend first of all to see the beautiful nature that surrounds Denver: Red Rocks, A hike at the Flat Irons, and at least a quick hike at Estes Park/Rocky Mountain National Park. Then a walk at 16th street in Downtown and surroundings, and the iconic stair at the Capitol where says “One Mile Above Sea Level”
I would take her/him to have:
– dinner at Panzano in Downtown, in my opinion the best Italian Restaurant in Denver.
– ride on a plane from the Centennial Airport
– Denver Museum
– Denver Zoo
– If it’s summer, to Elitch Gardens
– And enjoy live music at many spots in Denver like The Oriental Theatre, or maybe a small Irish pub like Scruffy Murphy’s

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
All my bandmates deserve a recognition for the success of this project
