We had the good fortune of connecting with Alex Fitzgerald and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alex, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Making sure we are doing everything possible the “right way” is top of the list for Alex Fitz! We use recycled gold in our pieces, partner with ethical stone suppliers, reuse any packaging possible, invest in sustainable products and make twice annual contributions to our charity partner, Building Hope Summit. Through Building Hope we are able to provide mental health counseling for youth to families that don’t have room for it in their budgets. We are in the process of setting up Alex Fitz Gives Back Days where we will do in person volunteer days and invite our like minded clientele.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve set out on a mission to make pieces that make people look good AND feel good. Our clients know that they have acquired a unique, eye catching design that was made with a deep care for our planet, and the people that live on it. Getting started took longer than anticipated because I spent so much time getting aligned with likeminded suppliers. To accomplish that I interviewed a long list of industry partners to find people that care about what I do – people and the environment. That work is never done and I am constantly looking for organizations that are socially and environmentally conscious like Alex Fitz.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
After a morning scoop up of a friend at DIA we are definitely going to grab the biscuits and gravy at The Universal on 38th in Denver. A little shopping at A Line in Cherry Creek and then a stop at the MCA in LoDo to check out their latest installations. Then off to the mountains because come on, that is why we live here! If they are one of my dancer friends, they can join me for the Adult Ballet class I teach at Studio B in Frisco, CO. A pumpkin donut from Daylight Donuts on Main St in Breckenridge and then a hike around the beautiful Blue Lakes of Summit County. Back to Main St to shop the coolest ceramics at Don Lo Mercantile and then dinner and incredible cocktails at Rootstalk. Up early for the hardest work out of my life with some high intensity pilates at Tonic Method Breckenridge. Last stop has to be a show at Red Rocks on our way back down the hill.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This shoutout is dedicated to my mom. Thanks to her taking me around to hunt for killer antique jewelry, and appreciation for good design…here we are.
